I would think your setup is capable of sticking right next to me if not passing. All you need is some Aux injection and a little more boost. Unfortunately for my Iwill no longer have the luxury of turning a **** for more/less power Once mine is together what I see is what i get..unless I decide to add giggle gas
Anywho back to updates...
Finally something new to look at came in this morning lol.
New Melling Hi-volume oil pump
Alot of people worry about pumping the pan dry with upgraded oil pumps while in high RPM situations but I hope to avoid this with the use of an accusump system, drain-back mods, and running 1/2 a qt to 1full qt over full. I also plan on installing an aftermarket oil cooler to keep the temps in check.
I'm still waiting on my stock L92 rockers to arrive so I can send them off to be upgraded. Once that is done all I will need to assemble the motor (besides all the acceseries) is some head gaskets.

I've seen the short vid you posted of your car and nasty doesn't even begin to describe it There is nothing out there thatsounds quite as unique as a turbo 3 rotor.
Yeah, it's my WW. I DD an 02 Mirage (slowest thing i've ever driven/owned). It makes my wifes Prelude feel like a sport car lol. But the A/C is cold and I get up 38MPG on the highway
But when my FD was running (and tuned) I drove it alot more than just weekends and i'm sure that will be the case with this new setup as well. Plus my wife actually likes going with me on my "evening cruises".

Yeah, I am looking forward to hearing that thing both from inside it, and behind it. Maybe I will stay pretty close, (I hope), but I am sure you will drive by me. I am always up for doing some side by side pulls.
Yeah, I would love to hear that Turbo 20B up close. Maybe next time I am in Orlando visiting one of my friends we could meet up. I am sure my friend would LOVE to hear that thing too...

I need aux inj anyways... I like to stay on the safe side of things.
I doubt you will have a problem with oil starvation as long as you do the drian back mods like you mentioned. Doesn't anyone offer a larger capacity oil pan for the lsx motors? I guess better question is would one even fit?
And if you ever need another hand just gimme a call.
I will have to take you up on that. I try and make it down there a few times a year...

Bewew, If I do decide to spray it I'll probably stick with a small 100 shot.
Noah, there are large capacity pans but like you guessed fitment is an issue. And with the drainback mods, accusump, and slightly overfilled pan I should be ok.
I got the l92 rocker arms and stands in the mail yesterday. They will be sent off this afternoon to be upgraded. I'll try to get some pics today to show the difference between the regular and offset intake rocker.
For anyone interested, this is what will be performed on my rocker arms.
Comp stock rocker rebuild
I was planning on going the more expensive Harland Sharp route but these will be a bit easier on the wallet. Thanks goes to Phoenix 5.7 for the link.
I also ordered a TICK remote bleeder kit. Still haven't started collecting parts to make the -4 line from the master to the slave yet.
Also I will be purchasing some GM MLS .054" head gaskets from GMpartsdirect shortly.
The offset intake rocker (top) are needed on the L92 heads while the standard centered exhaust rockers (bottom) from the LS2 can be reused. L92 rocker stands are also needed.
As of last night oil pump, timing cover and oil pan have been installed and the motor is one step closer to being complete. As soon as I get some new head gaskets I'm slapping those bad boys on.
Until then I will need to drill out my lifter trays so they don't retain as much oil to assist in drain-back to the pan.
Also, New TICK remote bleeder arrived today
It looks like my rockers just made it to Spectacle Solutions today so hopefully they will be on the way back to me by this weekend.
Progress may get a little slower sence it's getting colder outside and my wife just bought me a PS3 formy B-day

Well I have owned 8 rx7s so far. The last was a chevy V8 build I did. Its just hard to go back. I would like to build one of the LS motors. But right now I am building up a single turbo 302 powered first gen.

I went ahead and drilled my lifter trays today to allow more oil to drain back to the pan quicker. This mod is free and will hopefully keep me from pumping my oil pan dry especially sence i'll be running a Melling hi-volume pump. There is two 1/2 inch holes on the underside of every tray.
I still plan to run a 3 quart accusump for added safety when flogging the car on the track.

Nah, it'll just be your everyday bolt-on mild cam'd LSX FD.... No huge HP numbers here, but there should be a plethora of usable power.
GM MLS head gaskets came in today They were just over $60 shipped to my door from GMpartsdirect.com which is about $20 cheaper than ordering from the dealer.
I'll get these things slapped on as soon as i'm finnished with all of my finals:

Finals are finally over thank God.
I picked up some ARP head bolts and should have some time to start putting the motor together after this weekend. I would have went with studs but I dont plan on making crazy power so the bolts will work.
Stay tuned. I'll have some more pix to gawk at soon

Good choice on the comp cam, one thing I noticed is that you said you lubed up the cam. In the installation picture of the cam, it looked like maybe it had some oil on it. Every cam I have ever installed came with special break-in cam lube, I hope that is what you used. Come to think of it i think the last comp cam came with this red ****. Just lookin out for ya.
Good luck with the build, it should be sweet. Although I think I would like a 20b better I can't say I don't have plans for a ls1/t56 fc.

Thanks for lookig out man. It didn't come with my cam but I deffinately used break-in lube and not regular oil. I only applied it to one section of cam lobes at a time before sliding that section in so you can't see the lube in the pic shown.
Looks like my shifter handle, clutch master, and adaptor plate for the master finally shipped out from Hinson. There was a back order issue as well as some communication problems. But it is on the way at last. In the meantime, I installed my lifters, trays, and I'm getting ready to bolt on my L92s. I'll get it together and take some pics today.
I got a little bit done today with some pics.
First I got my lifters, and trays in.
Gasket and head
TSP pushrods
Upgraded rockers
I set my valve cover on without bolting it down to see how it looks.
I also ran into a small problem, The guy I bought my rockers and stands from sent me one l92 stand and one ls2 stand and i didn't notice it until now. So I was only able to complete one head. I'll head to the dealer and get another stand asap.
Also I had a feded package arrive today but I wasn't home to sign for it I'll be picking it up tomorrow. I hope it's my order from Hinson.

Nice!
Fwiw, a mild cam engine like yours (and ..mine... ahem..) is good for 11.6 @ 123mph or so on street tires... ask me how I know
If you don't already have a good set of drag radials, let them be your next mod. I only make ~390wtq with my setup and if it's colder than 70 out, 1st 2nd, and sometimes 3rd are a joke.... a very fun joke, but a joke nonetheless. Get a good set of 275 minimum width Nitto DR's and a good Hans device so your neck doesn't snap in half! You're gonna love it..
It's wild how two cars with the exact same peak horsepower numbers can be so wildly different on the street/track. I'm not sure I could ever go back.

^thanks
Hearing about other setups like yours makes it even harder to wait for mine to be complete. That's a very impresive time , especially on street tires. I would just like to go fast enough to get kicked out of my local drag strip for not having a cage ( 10.5 or quicker/ 130mph. Or faster)
Btw how much whp are making?
Here is L92 rocker stand (on top) with the incorrect Ls2 rocker stand(bottom)
I haven't purchased it yet but I will be using Justin Samberg's mounting equipment.
Here is a close-up of his bumpsteer kit.

I actually dyno'd about a week before going to the track so it's as accurate as it can get. 415whp/384wtq (my mistake, thought it was 389). Here's the goods:
That was done on 275/30/19 Toyo Proxes street tires (not the autox ones) at full pressure. You gotta love not having a turbo engine bog out on the launch. You can basically roll out of the box and be easy on the go-pedal and get sub 2.0 sixties.
FWIW, 11.49 should get you kicked out of any nationally certified track if you don't have a roll bar and 9.99 if you have a roll bar but not a roll cage.
I'm shooting for 11.50 on drag radials and 10.80's or so on a 100 shot.

Damn that's impressive. Good luck on your journey to 10's. I'll bet a decent tire and ye sauce will surely get you there.
I ordered the correct rocker stand as well as a few other small things. And I picked up my package from fedex.
Wilwood 7/8 master
adaptor plate for master and tri-ax shifter handle*

boostd4...That is pretty damn quick!!! And that was a fast friggin TA that you had to line up against!!!!!!! One odd question on the track, from that pic it appears as if it runs downhill... wtf?
Your build keeps looking great cyan! I guess we will have to wait till I get my motor rebuilt to run em. I spoke with BDC the other day and I really liked the way he presented himself over the phone. I am just going to have him do the port work. I am just too nervous about doing that myself. I may even have him tune the car after break in. Looks like I will have to add meth inj and 20psi from the sound of your build...

I'm glad you decided to let Brian do your porting. His work is top notch. So are you gonna let him cut you a 1/2 bridge? or are you sticking with a street port? 20+psi and aux injection are just what the doctor ordered. Go big or go home
Picked up my other l92 rocker stand today and went ahead and installed
everything and bolted down the valve covers. I think the painted parts came out just right and it matches perfectly. I can't help but just stand and stare at it.

It looks really good. Are you going to leave the Valve covers silver? If so that should look pretty killer under that mb chassis. Hey just a thought, are you going to have the chassis repainted while the motor is out? Just remember you wanting to do that the last time we met up.
I really gave the HB a LOT of thought, but I think I am just going to stick with the street port this time around. Maybe I will do the HB later on. I just hope I can hang onto the damn thing when it is pushing 20+psi...
