been working a ton of overtime but still workin on my rx-- i have finished the frame work for the drivers side upper radiator support now .all thats left is the flat work and to finish the latch hook mechanism ----question----has anyone ever moved the original brake booster and master to under the dash ----i think i have came up with a better idea than using a hydro boost .by way of using a slave cylinder to push the booster that would in turn push the master cylinder (same way the hydro boost works) but it will only cost me 50 bucks instead of $1600.00

the brass part with the handle is to operate the latch hook -when i get the other side done (cover and bracket for the hood bumper) ill put the radiator back in and ----hopefully take a better picture with a newer camera-there is also a support under the latch that is bolted to the upper and lower support .

well i finally got my new camera to put a stinkin picture on here --so not a computertech.here --i think ill stick for the most part to the car end ---hope the pictures look a lil better now ........oh also didnt like the disk idea afterall ----so i just made 1 strong support for the shroud instead of adding weight for no reason ---all thats left is where to route the hood release cable now --but i think ill wait till i redo the sheetmetal next to the headlights and the sheetmetal support that runs across from fender to fender---also going to build a bar the connects the tow hooks to the frame rails to stiffen up the front end ---and make for a good jack point for the front -------------jason

adding the support to the front really stiffened up the area+worked out good-ive seen people mount their radiator on an angle using an ls engine wont work for me .but i have to say that the ls engine in the rx is a very neat swap +no dist. to get in the way of the firewall.........jason

has anyone changed front coil springs on an fc to a higher spring rate? does anyone make a higher spring rate for the fc? or is there a spring from another car that would work ?

this is the lower bar so far ----there is a 1 inch hole bored in the bottom of the block as well to fit from a floor jack to the center of the car so i can jack the entire front of the car easily with car on the ground -plus it will have wire looms for the front harness--so far so good ---jason

Groovy project. Maybe these springs are akin to what you're looking for?

thanks --the springs say that they have 20percent more load rating i guess and a drop of 1 inch ---my last car had a cast iron 327(550) pounds i believe and a steel hood with a ---i must say a heavy duty hood scoop that i built (40 pounds)---it was made out of 1/8 steel ---over kill-but it didnt warp when i welded it all up --as i hear the stock steel hood weighs 100 pounds ---this car will have a an aluminium hood as well as the scoop will be made out of aluminium as well---big block weighs-----675 pounds so i will be real close to the same weight as the last car ---the only time i ever had any issues with handling with that car is when i would take a 45 mph corner by my house at 90... so i might jusr try those springs who makes the best shocks?---ive seen some that are like coil overs that are adjustable........jason

it sure does --full size big block camaro radiator-kept it up to keep the scrub line clear otherwise it would hang below the front spoiler---i have to scoop the hood anyways so the scoop will be as wide as the front part of the hood and made out of aluminium to keep the weight as low as possible--plus the radiator has been moved 5 inches forward to make room for the big block ---as it looks so far the balancer will be forward of the sway bar unlike how the small block fit with the bar right behind the balancer that also means the pan has to be up in the air enough to clear the sway bar as im not going to cut and reshape it because the engine has a 7 quart oil pan and i want to keep good ground clearance ------i havent test fit the engine yet but i believe the lakewood scattershield im going to use will be a close fit to the topside of the transmission tunnel ---we shall see in about another 2-3 months -i still have to box the headlight supports back in and make mounts for all the relays +horns and make a new radiator support bar that runs behind the radiator--but ill keep peckin at it--------jason

still working on the wire looms --they are on there just have to take the bar back out and tap the rest of the holes ..and while ive been doing that i got out the tape measure again and checked the distance ground to firewall and ground to stablizer bar -then front of the oil pan to where the top of the scattershield will be ---looks like im going to need another 2.5 inches .the engine has a 7 quart oilpan and i want to keep it as close to the bottom of the crossmember as i can .so this means the transmission tunnel will hit the scattershield .so ive figured out that if i raise the body 2.5 inches that i can solve that problem ++i also found a place that will make me coil springs just for my car !------keeps me busy jason

Just wondering if you ever got the BBC installed and running?

I did a low dollar Pontiac 455 install about 10 years ago,
- a .030 over engine so also the same 462 cu displacement, still have the car- but needs work (lots) of it since I started with a 220,000 mile FB , been parked for a few years. i also need to get back on it..
