The hipster, high school wannabe behavior that you constantly exemplify (such as this) is why so few people bother taking you seriously Nihil. I know you're an intelligent person, so why make stupid statements like this?

I never knew you were so into mopar there razorback. A 440 with a 727 trans and shift kit is the way to go. I have a friend with a 1971 Dodge Challenger. It is an original 360 with a 440 swapped into it and got all of the R/T parts for it. The body and interior are flawless. It now runs low 11's with the naturally asperated 440. Last time I rode in it the car was ALIVE from about 1500 to 8500rpm. People can call BS on the 8500rpm....I have seen it with my own eyes I dont care what you think. I wont go into mods unless asked but I never seen or heard such a roar. Needless to say I love mopar. I think a big block mopar would be alot of fun, especially into a fb, fc, or fd.

Im ******* saving that one DS!

And you know exactly why I said that! Its a troll fest, and Im not going to delude myself into thinking its anything other than a nutriding competition with the same old v8 vs rotard bullshit.

Ill save polite behavior for people who can actually think clearly and have a discussion instead of a stupid arguement that boils down to have about the same relevance as arguing if hobbits are gay or if Han Solo shot first.

Balance

12A
you might want to consider a few things to rebalance the car:
Battery to the passenger side storage bin.
Flush headlights (ditch the motors and pop up headlight mechanism).
aluminum radiator replacing the stock Rad/oil cooler.
Aluminum intake (Edelbrock air gap)
Aluminum cylinder heads (Edelbrock or other)
I would think a smallblock with an A518 overdrive trans might be a good bet. It would keep the highway cruising RPM down. Is there an adapter to use an A518 on a BB?

^the torque of the big block woudl rip the a518 apart. he would have to use the trans guts that came out of a trans that was behind a turbo diesel (i think 618 is the one)

Dead Thread Revival.... what happened to this build??? I seriously doubt the claimed numbers earlier given in the thread hence the pic above. I do give respect for trying to do this swap as a 440 seems monstrous in this application. Also, looking at your pic, that looks more like a B engine than an RB. The block looks too narrow to be a 440. 383/400's are an inch narrower. If you are pumping out those kind of numbers with a stock Thermoquad and exhaust manifolds... mad respect bro My call is this is a smog motor 400 (due to the Thermoquad) '72 or later engine. Not that this would be a bad choice, I just wish people would be more forthcoming with their posts, or maybe you were misinformed as to this being a real 440. My two cents.

...I would like to see a good LA swap done on an FC, anybody got any pics. I know grannyspeed sells the kit, but I have not seen any pics/videos of a complete car.

People are still here and will see the post though

As the car sits it needs body work finished paint and a rear end swap. I may stick to the mopar drive train and do a hellcat rear diff in it. Currently building mounts for a Paxton blower

Since you've punched the hood, forget the centrifugal blower. You need a big 6-71 roots blower

Car now runs and drives again with a Paxton blower. I built all my own mounts and making around 8 psi. I need to finally re lash my valve train as I have compression leak by on one cylinder that’s over tight and a few ticking but it’s a work in progress. Hope to put it on the dyno in a few months. Do a rear end swap and drive line hoop and h bar and it’s tech for 9s by IHRA requirements. Should be interesting
