So close to 12's!

Wen't back to the track recently. Mods include weight reduction, 3" intake, 3" exhaust, MBC set at 12psi stock turbo!!!, RTEK 1.7, walbro 255 pump, 720cc secondaries, Ebay FMIC, 6 Puck Clutch, and some drag radials. MY other personal best was 13.450@106mph with a dismal 2.2 60'(no drag radials at the time, stock clutch and intercooler too). Well this time went so much better. I did a nice 10 second burnout and heated up the dr's well, staged and launched like a bat out of hell, power shifted every gear, well grinded mostly lol.

RT, 1.140 (trying to get the launch down, didnt care when I left)
60', 1.898
1/4 13.002
MPH. 108.04

So close to hitting 12's on the stock turbo!!! And thats with no tuning to the rtek either, im sure I could pick up a few 1/10's by just getting the car tuned. Id estimate somewhere in the 230-240whp range maybe? Oh well I'm hoping for low 12's after I get the BNR stage 3 hybrid purchased and installed, along with the megasquirt and a good tune!

Happy racing everyone!!!

245/50/16 Nitto 555R Drag Radials, 26psi, held solid at 6,000rpm and quickly slid/slipped off the clutch until I was moving, then hammered the gas, just hooked and pulled, KYB AGX struts, Eibach Springs.

Great Job! Thank's for the information. I always find it useful when gauging what a vehicle should run. Near 12's on stock turbo is solid!

LOL! 13.002?? Could they possibly go any lower into the the time threshold. Thats almost not fair. Had no clue that was possible with a stock turbo, and you say its not tuned well consider you have the R-Teck, the upgraded fuel, an FMIC and id say your a hell of lot closer to being tuned than most ppl especailly hitting 13 sec flat
Nice

26psi?....drop those things down to atleast 15 and even as low as 10. Trust me on this, they will grip wayyyy better. Those are not the most sticky tires out there but at 26psi compared to 10 it will make a huge difference. A 108 mph for a 13.0 run on drag radials is pretty ridiculous. I've clipped 12.8's at 103mph before, just in a 240sx.

With the tire pressures at 10-15 you will probably bog with how you are launching now

I have to make a change, that 60' is 1.988 not 1.898 sorry typo. Im guessing this is because of all the pressure I was running in them.

Most of my mph I attribute to my weight reduction. The car is flat out gutted, one seat, stock dash, custom door panels, no headliner, carpet, deadener, rear strut towers, no ac, no heater core, no p/s, everything that doesnt make the car function is gone basically. I'd say I clipped atleast 2-300lbs of **** out of this thing. Sunroof is next I'm just going to weld it shut. But I agree, I was seeing 12.5's @ 107ish mph out of some old muscle cars clipping 1.7's in the 60'. I did roll out of the clutch somewhat fast too and I could feel the rears slipping. I'l try lowering the pressure next time and give it a go for 12's.

also about the tune, Its my understading that the rtek runs the 12psi like it would stock settings, well stock settings are rich, im sure I could pick up something If I were to lean it out.

Im going to try once more for 12's on the stock turbo then its coming out lol. Its on its way out as there is a fair bit of front to back shaft play which causes some nice oil burning on decel. BNR stage 3, and a megaquirt are going in along with an alky inj kit, 720cc primaries, and my zeitronix wideband sitting in my house. I'm hoping for mid to low 12's by the end of summer.

1.98 on drag radials? Doooooooooood, practice a little bit, and you're there. With 108 traps, you could be running 12.6's
