I think I just found my new engine builder. All you need now is a sticker that says "I wanna go fast"

HP peak (7118) - 22.8 psi (2.69 PR)
7960 - 20.8 psi

The T61 was out of breath...we're at higher altitude than most (13.46 psi ambient). As we turned up the boost we picked up more and more torque but the top end boost and HP peak didn't budge much.

It was on C16 fuel with denatured alcohol on top.
It seems like the numbers were made with the boost spike/creep, rather then boosting to a straight psi and holding it till redline...of course the numbers look good with the spike, then bleeding down to the 20 lbs or so at redline. To force it to hold the boost, a stiffer wastegate spring is needed, and once you do that and it still bleeds boost down, then you know your turbo is out of breath. I had a 61.5mm compressor wheel, and we tried running it to 30 lb with a 22 lbs wastegate spring, but it just kept bleeding down to 27 lbs.
Also, why does it seem so laggy and the full boost powerband too short? I made 27 lbs boost at 4500 rpms and it held that boost all the way to redline...about a 4K fullboost powerband. See how flat the torque curve is, which is what you want, and hp lines are...and the boost is rock solid . smoothing of 0

Do you think you've gotten all the car can do with the 490 whp? I've always been a big advocate of using all the current hp before trying to make more. Thats why...I'll be sticking with a stretch goal of 425 whp this summer and then this fall/winter make the push for more. 11.1 though is stinking fast so maybe you have..

I plan to run E85 with HP goals of around 600.... But on an REW motor and gt42

I think crispeeds car was a t76 with either a q or s trim exhaust....

Jrat what is up your sleeve for a turbo?? at least a 70mm inducer?

Will be a 67mm inducer. Not sure I really care to push for 600 anymore. 550 should be fine.

i swapped the 57 trim to the pt67 for about a month, then found the cheap gt42 so went for it.......

all i know is that the 67 will get you there..... my car was unbelieveably faster on the 67 vs the 57 on same boost levels, never went more than 14psi on a rough street tune and it had to be at about 430ish wheel, not even tapping the potential of that compressor....... wonder alot if i am foolish for not pushing the 67 and instead going with maybe a lag monster 75mm 42

and the 57 pushed my car to 11's on 14psi

will you run a larger hotside than a P-trim?

anyway you're still the man.......... anyone who pushes a 61.5 compressor to near 500hp knows how to make the most of a turbo

I wish I could take credit, but that goes to Ryan(Moremazda), Glen Weaver (AZRotaryRockets), and Trevor, the tuner extraordinaire. Without them I would have never made it.

Gratz J-Rat on those numbers. got a question though, what do you have for a driveline? stock trans and driveshaft? or have you upgraded?
