My TII's Power Progression...

Hey guys,

I don't know why I've never posted any of my dyno's of my car. I guess I was just waiting to post until I hit my goal, but that’s turned out to take longer than I expected.

Keep in mind throughout all of this that this all takes place in Denver, Colorado -- where we are 6000ft above sea level. We lose roughly 10-15% of our horsepower up there, and all of the dyno's and numbers I posted are the actual numbers that I got (uncorrected). If you want to know what I would have made at sea level with the same mods, just add on another 10-15% more power.

So here's my dyno from my car with very basic mods & stock turbo (when I bought it) @ 14psi:

208.92whp@228.35ft/lbs tq.

I think the mods were Cone Filter, Exhaust, and FCD... maybe a couple other little things.

Well, a while later (not sure exactly how long) I did another dyno. I had done a drastic amount of upgrades compared to the first dyno.

Here are all the mods I believe I had that would affect the power:
- Mild Streetport
- Freshly broken in engine (excellent compression)
- 3.15'' Racing Beat Turboback Exhaust w/ 3.25'' downpipe
- HKS Style Stainless Steel Exhaust Manifold
- Tial 40mm External Wastegate (dumped)
- Completely custom V-Mount intercooler with 23x12x3'' OBX Intercooler Core and 2.5'' Aluminum Mandrel Bent Piping
- Turbonetics Custom Assembled Turbocharger with 60-1 compressor housing (4.00" inlet and 2.50" outlet), and .81 AR (I don't really have any more specific numbers about the turbo, but if you ask I can find out).
- RX7CZ.NET 2.5'' Throttle Body Elbow
- Throttle Body Mod (Secondary Butterfly Plates and Shaft Removed)\
- Apexi S-AFC II for Fuel Control
- Greddy Profec B Spec II Electronic Boost Controller
- 4x Denso 720cc Injectors
- Walbro 255lph
- RB FCD
- Cone Filter (obviously)
- NO EMISSIONS WHATSOEVER

Here is what I made with those mods with my turbo at 9 psi:

298.12whp@224.19ft/lbs tq.

After that dyno, I found out that my AFM was maxed out so my turbo could not suck in any more air, and that my fuel injectors (720cc's) had reached their limits as well (yes, the altitude really does suck). I had effectively reached the limit of the stock AFM. So I needed to get rid of it.

As it stands today, I have these new mods (compared to when I did the 300hp dyno) that effect power:

- Much more aggressive street port
- Heavily ported throttle body
- Megasquirt EMS
- Apex'i SITC (Ignition controller since my MS does not control ignition)
- 2x Denso 720cc (primaries) and 2x Denso 1600cc (secondaries)
- New Plug wires
- Shine Auto Project Vented Hood (for V-Mount exhaust)

I do believe if I can successfully turn up the boost to 15-20psi safely with my new mods, and now that I’m down at sea level, I could make at least 350-400rwhp.

All I’m waiting on now is some money to go to the dyno and get the MS and SITC tuned. I believe I have all of the necessary mods to do it-- I just need the money to get it dynoed!!!

Let me know what you think.

P.P.S.: Yes, I will be at Sevenstock 9. Come visit me.
