dissapointed at the times

Went to track couple weekends ago. Best was a 13.23 @108.9 with a 2.19 60'

The track was super slick, spun off the line and always spin hard and get sideways going into 2nd.

Best speed was a 109.7

Maybe 400 lbs of stereo over the rear end doesn't help traction that much.

with those kind of MPH you should be into the 12's... what kind of tires?

Getting rid of the stereo **** will help with e.t's too.. but not with your 60'.

2.19 60' isn't THAT terrible, though.

2.2 isn't really good, and I'm sure that's due to the track conditions. Putting 400 lbs. of stereo equipment in the back is actually a good idea because you're effectively softening up your rear suspension with the extra weight.

But yeah, when you're trapping ~109, you should be running 12s...

Yeah on second thought rip that **** out and just soften up your rear end. Maybe run some drag slicks.

Yeah, 62-1, big port, I'm putting down 410 hp at the wheels. I talked to the guy who did my install and he said it was more than 400 lbs. All custom made, 5 amps, caps, lots of fiberglass and wood. Running Azenis for tires.

Oh and thaty 2.19 60' is junk compared top how well I can hook on the street. I hook so well on the street the clutch becomes the weak link. I was prepared to fight the clutch slip but instead found the track to be like oil and it would spin with an easy launch. Any easier and I was bogging bad. Going to a different track this weekend thats supposed to be a better deal. I've been there before but not to drag race, they also hold autox there. 2.5 mile long concrete landing strip for the military a farmer bought and built a track around. They get some really fast guys show up since the track is wide and long the jet cars can keep on the juice all the way through.

Busted front end now though I'm hoping I won't catch too much air under the car now or rip a piece off and shred a tire.

Damn man, I think I would sell that stereo equipment and run an 11 already. 410 to the wheels is an easy 11 with a 2.0 60'. Or at least find a better weight saving system. Build a box where the bins are and put a high quality 12 and you should be under 100lbs pretty easy including the amp.

I have had serious thoughts of gutting just it all out and dropping 600lbs or so but man when I pop that DTS concert DVD in and start jammin it just feels right. I have center channels in the front side of my rear view mirror. It sounds better than a movie theater.

Good GOD, if you're putting 400+ to the wheels shouldn't you be trapping 120+?

Yeah, I'm only trapping 110. The track was slick though that night (my first run with the car and first time to the track in 15 years). Second gear was bad, i'd do a powerslide and scoot over on the track. A good 2 second spin in second. Gonna try it again this weekend at a diff track and see what happens.
