nice numbers
Is it a t2 engine/rotors in your GXL?
When does the turbo come out of vacuum and into boost, and when do you hit 10psi?

And for you guys waiting, why not call Bryan, he's always been great w/ me about answering the phone and all of my questions even though I haven't bought my turbo yet

I'll post everything on Monday at work. I've been working on a spec's list on my work computer, and I seriously don't want to type all that twice. That, and my scanner is at work for the dyno sheet.

I won't bother him. It looks like he's swamped with work and the last thing he needs is to hear "when are you getting it to me" from 20 different people.

I spoke with him and I had everything answered:

1. did he get it? "yes"
2. is everything in good shape and rebuildable? "yes"
3. How long will it take? "3 weeks"
4. Let me know if you need anything else. "will do"

If it takes longer then it takes longer I'm not in a rush ( mainly cuz I have a DD).

Those of you that shipped the turbos to him: DID YOU USE USPS? UPS? DHL?

he recieved my turbo the last week in june (usps with tracking&ins), so its been almost 4 weeks.. i talked to him about 2 weeks ago and he said he was trying to get mine out by the end of last week.. havent recieved it yet, but i dont mind the wait. you cant rush quality work

im getting a stage 3, hoping for 300whp@10psi on stock S4 block. i dyno'd 250whp on the stocker at 9psi.

does anybody know if the stage 3 needs an oil restrictor, or can you hook up the oil lines like stock?

that's what I said. If it takes him a lil longer but I still get great quality work then it's worth it. Turbo kits can run upwards of $1600 and it stands out like a sore thumb. These turbos will perform just as well as the aftermarket ones AND look like a bone stock unit for a fraction of the cost.

I got the Stage 2 and I'm hoping to put down 320hp. I wanted 300hp but for the cost of the stage two, compared to the stage 1, it seemed like the logical choice.

We'll see. POst here when you receive your turbo.

Mine was sent out 7/9/07, received (signed for) 7/16/07.

What exhaust are you guys using?

Hey my first post Great site! Are the prices listed on the BNR website based on exchange or an outright price?

I tried to email Bryan, he's been flat out hence no response. Thanks guys.

I should have some dyno numbers down fairly soon on my stage 4. I know its been a while that my car has been under construction.. but its all startin to come together now.. haha.

Bryan from what I understand has been pretty busy.. I got my turbo in about 3 1/2 weeks..

Thats what I love about the turbos from BNR.. they put down good power and they look completly stock.. mine doesnt look upgraded at all with the filter on it.

I received my BNR stage 4 recently. Mine was sent out 6/6/07 and received 7/21/07. It was a long wait, but it looks great and spools quickly.

I just got back from some data logging. As you know mine isn't your typical set-up but here you go with some info anyways.

I get into boost off idle- literally. If I am letting the car chug along at idle (1,000 rpm) and zero throttle and then whack open the throttle it boosts.

In 2nd gear it takes 4/10ths of a second to get into boost and has reached 1,300rpm by then.

In 3rd it takes 6/10ths of a second to boost and ~1,100 rpm by then.

In 4th it takes 8/10ths of a second to boost and still at ~1,000 rpm.

It takes 4 to 6/10ths of a second just to jam the throttle to the floor BTW..

In 5th gear 2psi by 2,000rpm, 9psi by 3,000rpm and full 14psi by 3,400rpm @ 60 deg F near sea level.

That said, the power only REALLY comes on at 5,000rpm and pulls like mad to 8,000rpm where it quickly drops off.

I just rebuilt my engine as it melted and ate an EGT probe and pinched a cornerseal with the debris.

I used 9:1 rotors and 2mm seals this time instead of my usual 8.5:1 and 3mm seals because it is what I had- everything else the same.

Low rpm boost is slightly improved and interestingly peak boost was exactly the same rpm though it is a bit warmer out. I really do like that the engine revs faster for downshifts with the lighter rotors (though the new puck clutch I put in probably contributes to this as well).

Having to lower the boost or retard timing a bit as it detonates a little with the 9:1 rotors at 14psi in the 3,500rpm range with 91 octane and 1 quart premix (~89 octane mix).

running my BNR stage 4 I checked my AFR's the other day. And it was like 95 degrees and a **** load of humidity. ALl i have it 720 seconds and a aeromotive FPR. I checked the afr's at 7 psi and it was at 10.2

hella rich=D

but my low end is damn lean....

I am leaned out now to 10.8:1 AFR at full boost :P I might lean it out to 11:1 if it adds significant power once I get to a dyno.

But at 7psi it is only like 11.5:1 or so.

11.5:1 is good afrs for boost, maybe 12:1 for lower psi.

tell me about it! I miss my baby but You should contact BNR to see what's up. I am giving him a total of 5 weeks ( he asked for 3 weeks after he received it) before I call him or IM him.

got my turbo back!! pics..

on the left is the stock S4 turbo i borrowed from a friend.. and the BNR S5 Stage 3 on the right. the housing looks only a little bigger than stock, but the compressor is a huge difference.. looks to be about 2.3" diameter, stock looks to be only 1.7"

a shot of the exhaust side:

hopefully i can get it up and running today, cant wait to try her out!
