whats the turn around time for a bnr turbo, i looking at the stage 3 need to hit 340ish to stay ahead of the game here in mid tenn.mods as listed

3in turbo back
cone filter
720 cc secondaries
greddy profec b type s
huge front mount
2.5 ic piping
rtek 1.7
all emissions removed and twin scroll
greddy comp. tube
all this is going on my landers rebuild with jhb housing , streetport and tb mob
i dont know what kind of tuning ill need but im thinking of running the 1.7 for now @ 5-6 lbs til i get better tuning setup like standalone or 2.0

Yea.. I just got the turbo when I posted that pic.. It looks sweet.. porting is very nice on it. I hope I can put down some good numbers with it. Steve Kan is coming down to Vegas May 5-6 to tune our cars. Ill post up some dyno sheets then. I got my car running. It starts right up (was afraid I did something wrong with the haltech install). It runs lean at idle but richens to high 10s during light load. I havnt pushed it at all because Im just running a base map on it..

No you dont need to have braided lines. I just like them.. I believe the only differences between the stage 4 and stage 3 turbos is the stage 4 has P trim turbine wheel.. and is automatically upgraded to the 360 degree thrust bearing so it sees oil through out the whole rotation. Also on the stage 4, he ports the rear turbine housing to flow better, which looks really good BTW. I just went with the stage 4 because I wanted a really big turbo, And since I was having trouble finding an exhaust manifold that would fit on my vert, I just went with the beefiest stock upgraded turbo I can go with.

Frank, is there any way you could maybe take a photo of that next to a familiar object for comparison? Or have you already started bolting it back on? Cant exactly tell how big it is sitting on a table, though Im pretty sure its quite large. Inlet looks like its at least 3'' or so.

Yes Yes. I know the engine bay needs some good cleaning up. Also, Ive gotten a filter on it now. Ill snap some new pics in a second. the inlet is 3" and the wheel is HUGE. Im defintly satisified with the turbo so far as far as fitment and size. Cant wait to see how it does on spool up and on a dyno

Looks like just a diff comp housing.. theyre both .60 though. I also got the upgraded actuator with mine. It has a 13psi "spring". so that might be the difference of actuators compared to yours.

How is the spool on the stage 4? I have the Stage 1 now and spool is instant on it. I'm looking at the Stage 3 or 4 now just to give me a little bump in power, but I've heard the stage 4 spools really late.

Brian said my stage 4 will have full boost by 4200 or so. We shall see. Im working on fixing a fuel leak on my car now then ill take it for a little test drive and see for myself. I have to play with the fuel map a little more and richen it up.. I have a S4 turbo and I took out the twin scroll on the exhaust manifold.

4200 isn't bad at all. Definetly update on how you like it. I think for my Stage 1 I see boost around 3500.

Haha.. yea it looks small compared to a GT35R.. but huge compared to a stocker. If the stage 4 was any bigger though, It wouldnt fit. As is it right now, the comp housing BARELY clears the LIM. Im talking like maybe a mm or so.

My ultimate goal with the car is 600whp. I know this turbo wont get me to that goal or not even close, But Im sure ill be happy with the results at the time being. My plans eventually include a half brigdge or maybe even just street ported 13B-RE and some sort of bigger twin turbo application. But thatll have to be next year. If I can get somewhere around the 350whp mark with my current setup ill be happy.. as it will go into an FB when I put my next motor together for my vert. I think an FB will do pretty good with 350whp

It's a series 4 turbo.

It was a fourth gear pull and I was able to watch the wideband while the tech drove the car. The A/F's where in the high 10' to really low 11's.

At the change over point @ 3500 rpm's the A/F goes pig rich (Below 10.0). I should be able to tune it out so I don't have that dip in power. It gets really rich up top also and you can see it in the graph. I might try and advance the timing a degree or two in the upper RPM's after peak torque and power.

Its a stock S4 Jspec longblock. So I believe it has stock ports. Removed twin scroll, 4x720's, rewired walbro, Aeromotive 13109 FPR, BNR Stage 1, stock throttle body, Greddy FMIC, Rtek V2.0, Jacobs FC1000 CDI. For the full mod list check the garage in my sig.

I'm thinking with a Stage 3 I could pull maybe 330 horse @ maybe 13-14psi? Maybe with some 890's.

Getting started.

Here is my S5 BNR Stage 2 just back from Bryan's hands. Its a standard stage 2 upgraded with the 360' bearing.

Slowly getting car back together but here are the basics.

1988 stock S4 T2 with 62k original miles when I picked it up last July.
came to me minus the air pump and
an ACT unsprung 6puck clutch (not my choice, came with the car)

I`m replacing the S4 stock turbo with the S5 stage 2
Racingbeat 3" turbo back
K&N cone filter with adapter on AFM
Stock TMIC
fuel upgrades, 720s all around
current FD pump getting replaced by Walbro
Rtek stage1 ver.1.8 for now
I have a Megasquirt already built up but won`t be ready to go full standalone until
I`m back up and running.
LC-1 wideband to go with the Megasquirt once I get that far.

Any ideas on connecting the stock AFM as well as the stock BOV to the new turbo? Can`t seem to find anything that will work yet.
