1st time at the track!

I finally got around to the track in my turbo II tonight. It was pretty damn warm, 92 degrees. They said the track temp was 116! Anyway, it's an '88 turbo. Mods: 3" turbo back, RTek (base), removed the airfilter and lid. Once I figured out how to launch without a bog I ran a:

After that the clutch became too warm and the times just when up. All in all I was very happy with the results.

haha..it was a buddy in a beautiful 300ZX 'slicktop'. His other ride is a 300Z TT that traps 120+ so he had a little trouble getting used to the power (or lack thereof) in this one

Obviously. Thats a horrile time for that trap. I ran similar trap speeds at over 2 seconds faster, and I totally screwed up the launch.
Also, thats a pretty good r/t for your first time.

well, it wasn't my 1st time drag racing, just the 1st time in the RX-7. My other car is a 358whp WRX, runs low 12's at 113mph. I leave a little later in the WRX because it launches so fast I usually redlight every once in a while. The r/t doesn't effect the et so I just basically concentrated on launching. The RX-7 had a LOT more grip than I was expecting, I had to launch around 4k. I plan to upgrade a bit, hopefully get into the 118-120mph traps someday

Nothing else is done to the car? Just rtek and exh pretty much? Impressive times for an essentially stock FC.

so you ran faster than an 11.7 @ 101mph
uummmm i doubt it
13.7 "over 2 seconds faster" = <11.7 and 99-103mph

I actually ran a 16 flat (well, 15.99) at 88, and that was with a shitty launch from bald tires Kumho 712's and a missed 1-2 shift. And yes, I was talking about the times for the other car.
