6500 rmp launch on bald 205s, power shifted at redline from 1st to second, and shifted soft at 6800 from 2nd to 3rd (have to shift soft, my syncro is bad in 3rd)

I was under the impression that NA's ran a lot slower like low 16's, high 15's with just intake/exhaust.

My friend ran a 15.2 something in his GXL with a cold air intake, straight pipe, ported IM, and cat-back.

my 91 NA ran a 15.5@88 with gutted cats and a 2" catback, intake, etc. i had some other minor mods like decent weight reduction and minor intake manifold porting. anyways, i was pleased with a 15.5.

my first run was a 15.5 i was stoked, then i launched at 7 instead of 5 and i ran a 15.2 lol ohh yeah my car was full interior (not much to it on a base) and it wieghed 2550 lbs

DEZERT I wouldn't be so sure about that why not? I ran a 15.2 and thats not that much faster considering I ran that with completely bald tires, and they are 205, I expect like a 15.0 when i get my new 245s

wouldnt wiring the ports open actually slow you down from the loss of torque??

No, you only lose torque in low RPMs. If you are in low RPMs when racing, you're doing it wrong.

I'm glad some1 else knows this i'm tired of hearing all the low tourqe loss stuff it may be there but if you want to go fast you don't use low rpms

True, but you drive around on the streets most of the time below 4k, where torque is helpful.

I ran a 16.2 completely stock, launching like a little girl because it was my first time at the track. I'm expecting mid 15's this season.

I had a mid 14 car on stock ports with Intake and exhaust (mild weight reduction). i think best was 14.6, call the BS flag and ill show you a sea of consistant slips (ran by my buddy and now DSM punk Detruich).

WTH, at 89mph traps at 2700# - that's like 150hp at the wheels or almost 200bhp at the flywheel???
Even with an S5 engine rated at 160bhp, that's a 30hp gain from the exhaust and intake???

http://www.turbofast.com.au/Drag.html
You can mess around with this - the numbers are pretty close.
HP is rwhp.
