quarter mile 1st timer in FD

Just got back from Santa pod, been quarter miling the car today for the first time...its a 1992 red FD with 66k on the clock, totally stock bar vac hose job and apexi filters. Only got two runs in due to problems with the cooling system, but ended up pulling a 13.98 at 102 for the first run and then a 13.82 at 101, 60fts were 2.4 for the 13.98 and 2.2 for the 13.82. All in all im pretty happy with the times! Dont think its too bad for a stock FD with 65k on the clock - went with a friend of mine who has a 93 RX7 in similar condition except he has SARD filters and he could not break the 13s...his best was 14.2.

Im pretty happy i beat the book figure too, book is 13.9 isnt it, i wasnt expecting to get anywhere near that, with the car being 13 years old and me being inexperienced in driving it up the quarter, but sure enough first run, i hit the nail on the head

Glad with the results!

Not bad at all for an almost completely stock FD.

Thats just about the fastest times i've seen from a stock fd...I'll go as far a saying that those times are better than a bunch of mildly modded ones!!! specially since youre not really experienced...Very Nice!

thanks dude! Im not inexperienced at the pod, but i am inexperienced in the RX. Plus i had the shakes on the day from the weekend hahaha (Ran on the sunday after two days of solid drinking)

My old car was a front wheel drive with 350hp weighing in at 700kg so im no stranger to launching technique :o)

Thanks for the compliments!

of course! FWD is a pain in the ***! I was launcing in the FWD car at about 150bhp, 2nd gear around 220 and 3rd the full 350...that was the only way i could put down any sort of power even with a LSD and slicks...
