From Raceonly:

Disclaimer: they claim there is still an issue they’re working with the car. Did not disclose what the issue was in their last post. This is what these turbos made on a stock port motor with LS coils and the fancy RHD FD motorsports downpipe @16psi. No AI and on pump gas too.

Staying tuned for more updates.

That makes more sense. Looks quite a bit similar to BNR performance. Will be interesting to see if they turn it up to 25+ psi. Maybe 500 is possible, no way they hit 650 as claimed.

Fixed a boost leak and replaced the hi flow cat. This is what a stock port motor made on pump gas, LS coils, and 16psi with an adaptronic ECU.

Finally, some unbiased results.

Not bad for stock ports.

Nice. Certainly respectable numbers for sequential twins. After cutting up a set of stock ones, I'm surprised how well they flow in such a constrained manifold/housing configuration.

The pics on Raceonly facebook show the Bathurst SP twins installed on the car. Pretty distinctive compressor housing...

They have also tagged FDMotorsports and run their fancy RHD downpipe too. Clearly their turbos.

Seems to be the typical 260kw@1 bar, dyno dynamics, seen elsewhere.

Just to clear a few things up ,
the sp twin that where installed on that car where older model cores and exhaust housing , I upgrade those used one with new turbine and compressor wheels .

The latest sp twins will give you no boost drop between transition because of improved centre outlet and the new cores have less drag resistance on shaft because they don’t use carbon seal they use piston ring clip .

And spoke to owner on race only and he says the wheels and getting hot and slipping at the high end of power run , this is making power flatten off .

if you look at peak power at 6400 it’s a sure indication that it is slipping, should peak power at 7800rpm

i have been told he will be putting the car on hub to eliminate this issue.

i believe on a safe tune on pump 98 unleaded,16psi should see 385hp easy

Yes, no hope of 600+, or even 500. Good to finally have real numbers. Definitely better than stock, and likely better spoil than an EFR 7670, but around the same power. Good for people that need a stocking setup looking for between 350-450whp (maybe 500 if you really push it) depending on boost level and porting, exhaust, etc..

I don't see the need for a $2k premium over BnR though.

do u really think anyone is believing your crap , ha

we are all waiting for your bnrs power graphs ,

where are they ??, I guess no were cause you will expose all your fake facts .

for the other normal members, the guys got stock engine, unlead fuel , 16psi , and slipping tires and making 360hp his doing way better than bnr twins with no slipping tyres .

look at first turbo how it keeps flowing to 5000rpm and make good power , lets see bnr rebuilt Chinese Garrett cores twins do that with with standard compressor covers and restrictive turbine wheels .

New BNRs use hitachi cores though

Also, you can search BNR on this forum and there are countless dynos of them making 350 all the way to 470hp.

For stock ports, 360hp is pretty good. But I’m pretty sure the BNRs could make the same power for $1000 less (if you buy their new exhaust housing).

Admittedly, there aren’t a lot of stock port and pump gas only dynos out there. Everyone loves to run AI with them and almost no E85 dynos on BNRs. A ported engine yields higher numbers always. Again, I’m pretty sure the BNRs could do 360hp on stock ports.

I really want to see good things from the SP turbos ..... but seems like there is no evidence of it.

Here is my dyno from last August running 14psi.
Mods here: https://www.rx7club.com/time-slips-d...-dyno-1138347/

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...8f58cfa5a0.jpg

I am now running 16psi or so ..... don't have a dyno, but can do 70-120mph in 7.4s in 4th.
Probably making the same power as the SP's at 16psi?

Those numbers are on stock turbos too. Great numbers. I believe banzai achieved similar results in their “dyno comparison by parts added” thread.

And that’s on STOCK turbos and stock ports.

wheres the boost graph and this is hub dyno
that power doesn’t look right in the transition.

Again, I'm not buying BNR turbos. There are tons of dyno charts all over this forum if you need numbers though.

You are the one not posting real data and trying to hock turbos at a premium. And making claims for magic 650hp with misleading dyno charts that are clearly incorrect.

Face it, you have no data to prove that your turbos are any better than the alternative. Keep saying they are made in Japan and posting crazy looking dyno charts where the torque, RPM and HP don't make sense (and continue not addressing the questions about the mismatch), that will really help you get the sales haha.

I'll keep posting in here until you post some real data.

And since you have such a strong opinion, what data do you have that shows the Garret cores aren't any good? Sounds like you have a general racist issue between Japan and China, because you have posted no data to support your bold statement. I think Garret is a pretty reputable manufacturer from a quality perspective, regardless of where their manufacturing takes place.

You are trying to makes sales and take people's money based on your claims, provide some data to support your sales pitch. Idk too many people that bash Garret products.

I bet $10 his response is

"don't buy that rebuilt Chinese Garrett core crap, you have fake data. By my made in Japan turbos because they will make 600 hp, trust me. And here's a misleading dyno chart that makes no sense to back up my claim. Trust me, give me your money. $2k price premium vs the competition because it's worth it"

You haven’t tried bnr twins or sp twins , but seem to know it like your a pro .

like I said in Australia we have or test bnrs twins and there not much better than stock 3kai twins .

no one buys bnrs twins no more ,they or know there waste of money and the cores fail very quickly and leak oil .

bathurst sp 650 ps is the only ones that makes the same or if not better the big singles up to 25psi .

and there reliable Japan quality built

Damn Twincharged. Called it.

Doc, this claim that the BNRs fail quickly and leak oil are entirely unfounded. We have a ton of people who have ran the BNRs and have no issues with them. Hell, there is a set currently for sale with 15k mi on them and they look perfectly fine.

Again, at $3700 for your Bathurst SP twins, I could grab a Turblown EFR 8374 and make the same power without the inherent heat the twins make with a simpler set up and the same if not greater advertised output.

If your twins were competitively priced (I.e. like $200 maybe $300 more than the 3KAI turbos) I bet other would fork up for them. The SP 3KAI turbos are $3100 new IIRC.

If you want to sell these things, you’re gonna need to provide some actual founded claims that BNRs are as bad as you say they are, provide more than just 1 skewed dyno graph, and quit acting like an absolute jack wagon of a salesman.

I’ll tell you a secret there’s no such thing as sp 3kai , it’s just 3kai

they have standard compressor covers, only difference between HT12s. And 3kai is they use billet 10/0 compressor wheel , 43.2mm inducer x 62mm exducer
standard HT12 41.65mm inducer x 57mm exducer
and all other components are standard HT12
good for 360 Hp max at wheels on 17psi
