I got some videos from the track this week. Two runs with good starts but only did 11.57 both times, see the links below for some good videos of the launches. Then the sun was going down it was getting colder and I would have done better on the 3rd run, but the quick disconnect plastice piece on a heater coolant hose broke at the start of the run and I dumped coolant all the way down the track, and almost lost control when the tires started spinning in 2nd gear.

(1.61 60ft, the truck ran a 12.2)

(1.58 60ft) I shifted into 2nd gear too soon, but got a better 60ft time.

amazing how those little stock turbos haven't spun themselves into oblivion by now...I need to start pushing my full non-sequential (w/ Garfinkle ported manifold) BNR Stage 2s harder, I'm only running 14 psi

Ya I would say you should up the boost if you have the supporting mods, I have been boosting 18 to 20 psi depending on the air temps. Im going to the track tomorrow and its gonna be cold and so I expect some good times and speed. I been thinking about going full non sequential cause I need a little more power to hit 10s, and with the gears I got now it should be not too bad for street driving i'm guessing.

what air temps do you target as "safe"? I'd be hesitant to run more than 16 psi on 93 pump gas

I would definitely recommend the David Garfinkle full non-sequential conversion (requires alot of welding), it's about as good of flow as you're going to get out of the stock manifold...I would also recommend ceramic coating the manifold to keep it from cracking

Well when I had it out in the summer it was probably close to about 80 degrees out and I was boosting 17-18psi. I have a meth kit installed but havent been using it, I know I should but its been fine without it. Thanks.

342 @ 19psi?

****..i made 345 @ 14psi, stock (rich mans non-seq) twins, ported motor...still haven't upgraded my ignition yet, and not fully tuned yet either.

i think you're pushing the turbos too hard.

Today I did a 11.42 ET @ 119.8 mph and a 1.57 60 ft, and a 11.40 ET @ 121.0 mph with a not as good 1.62 60 ft

Peak boost was 18 psi. After switching into 4th gear I was watching the boost gauge and it went down to 17 and was at 17 for most of 4th gear until the finish line. It always seems like my peak boost is never above 18.5 at the track, but then near my house I hit 20 psi on the way home, it always boost less on the track for some odd reason, maybe it's higher up there, I'll have to check on that. And the car feels a little faster around here at 19-20 psi, so I guess I could get better times if I could run 19-20 psi at the track.

I dont think your pushing your turbos hard enough and all dyno's are different you prolly made 345hp on a dyno jet.

Also do you realize that 14psi is about how hard stock turbos work on a stock fd to make 10psi?

I would imagine the temp is playing some games with the boost!
For the h/p level your gettig it all to the ground.
At 1.64 60ft i went 10.96 127.84mph with about 500whp and i think your car and you driving is looking very good in my opinion!

so your saying if you get rid of all the restriction of the stock twins. you can run 17-18psi all day long and have no worrys? what makes the stock twins soo restricted from the factory to make them work so hard to reach 10psi?

I was just joking about not pushing them hard enough but I do not think "15 psi"
is the limit on our stock twins but I am also not saying that running 19 psi is gonna make them last longer.

Look at it this way if you take a stock fd and put an intake on it what happens? you make less of a restriction for air so you gain horspower well now the twins dont have to work as hard to pull air in do they? So now what the twins were working at to give you 10 psi you are now getting 11 or whatever.

Here is an example from sportcompact cars project rx7 right from there article

"While we didn't get a chance to install and test the larger of the two intercoolers yet (wait until the next installment), the smaller unit yielded simply outstanding real-world results. First of all, measured pressure loss was only 1.1 psi. As a result, manifold pressures increased from approximately 12 psi to a rock-solid 13 psi. But the biggest surprise was how effective the intercooler was at bringing peak intake temperature down to within 22 degrees of ambient!"

And an exhaust system, without the stock cats, will help alot. And getting rid of a heat soaked stock intercooler helps.

My car was on a dynojet, I thought they didn't really read low like some others do.

I'm thinking about gutting out the interior of my car (carpets, panels, bins, etc..) to see how much weight I can remove and see what I can do next weekend which is the last weekend of the year. Then I'll have to spend some money over the winter cause I'm tired of running 11s LOL.

haha so with full mods done for the twins.. 15psi on them shouldnt be too much of a huge deal?
