Just bought a new set for $250 bux. I know....their the old tread pattern. I don't care they are great on the corners
Here is the real story, going down the 215 freeway at about 82-83 mph inthe fast lane. Look up and tow cars have gotten together in front of me and are starting to slide sideways down the fast lane. I stomp my brakes cause I'm still at 83mph and (of course) no ABS and the wheels lock up. It seemed forever, I slid and slid and slid. Long enough to look in my review mirror and see the dual vortex of blue smoke coming off my tires. Then I had time to ask out loud if I am gonna stop. Then finally the two cars grab traction and shoot off to the left and cross the carpool lane and smash into the center divider, finally coming to rest facing the wrong direction.
I kept going as nobody was going to be hurt. My front end was shaking really bad.....falt spotted my old Yokos. They were old and dry rotted but I was not ready to replace them just yet. Well they had to go after that. You should have seen the "new" grooves cut in those tires from the grooves in the pavement. I mean the old tread was cpmpletly rubbed off and the new grooves were left behind.
Crazy
