Which would you get?

I am buying tires for my 88 TII in the next few days. I was hoping to get some input on these tires or if anyone can suggest something better that is similar in price, please do so. It is a daily driver and I will be autocrossing every month or so starting next spring. I would like them to last at least 15-20k miles. What do you guys think? Are my expectations for these tires too high?? Thanks for any advice.

Nope, 15-20k sounds about right. But I would get these.

I would also check out the tirerack's tire reviews if you have not already. That Bridgestone tire seems pretty cool.

I hope you intend to stay with 205s all around. I had 225s on the rear of my old TII and it made it understeer quite a bit more than running 205s which is bad if you are looking to autox.

I don't believe you can get the Bridgestone RE730 anymore. It's been replaced with the RE750, which I have, and I highly recommend the RE750's. But, for the price range, Falken Azenis are the way to go. Good grippy tire, fairly long lasting treadlife, and the street tire of choice among auto-xers.

I've heard good things about the Falkens but my only experience is with Bridgestones and Yokohamas.

If you haven't done so take alberto_mg's advice and look up the reviews and writeup at tirerack website.

Thanks for the help fellas. I looked at the Bridgestones but that is a little more than I want to pay now. I am sticking with the 205s. I looked for reviews on tirerack.com, they don't carry falken apparently, I did read some reviews on Falkens on discountautotire.com, the azenis got great reviews, i think almost everyone gave them 5 stars, only drawback is treadwear. I ended up ordering the Falken GR Beta FK-451. Treadwear is 280 I think so I am hoping to get a solid 15-20k out of them. I heard they have the azenis on special every now and then for 50-60 each so I may get a set of those just for auto-x next season...we will see. I should get the falkens tomorrow and have them mounted Saturday morning. I will keep you all updated on how they handle.

Have you looked into the Kumhos... they seem to be liked. Plus, you gotta love the name

the dunlops have bigger blocks, usually this is better, since durring hard conering they dont tare off like small ones. If you dont race your car hard, you really wont notice this anyway.
