Widest 16" Tires without rubbing!

Does anyone know the widest tires I can put on my stock 16" rims on a stock 1993 rex. My tire company says 225 50 16, but I think maybe 245 50 16 without rubbing the front wheel wells. Any thoughts?

+1 on searching

Suspension/Wheels/Tires/Brakes has a stickied thread dedicated to this, in case you ever have questions about sizing.

This should make it easier for you: https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/fd-wheel-tire-sizing-416251/

As mentioned:

However, it's getting hard to find decent 245/45/16 tires these days at decent prices.
