Talking who here has a lowered fd with 18x9f and 1810r?

This is the setup I'm interested in. I've got the money now to purchase a set of wheels and tires and found the one's I want and they do make them in those sizes(BBS RS-GT's). I will be getting a whole new suspension afterward which will lower my car a bit so I want to know if anyone has 9's in front and 10's in back on 18" wheels. Any problems?... any suggestions? I know the offsets will have to be within +45 to +50... so my next questions is what exact offsets are you guys running?Thank you guys for all your help.

You might want to verify that those wheels will clear the FD calipers. I think Manny found out that the high offset 17" RS-GT wheels won't clear the brakes.

figures..... the only wheels I truely want and had my heart set on. Is Manny here? I really want these wheels. Oh, I thought of one more question... I want a staggered wheel (to acheive that "deep dish" look) does this change the offset I would have to get for these wheels to fit properly? Sorry I don't know jack about wheel backspacing and so on. Thanks Rynberg! You've always been a big help. Anyone else with a comment?

Well, the 18s may clear when the 17s wouldn't. You should talk to BBS directly about this.

There are some other mesh wheels on the market that are relatively light and aren't Fikse price range. Try looking at Forgelines or Volk SE37As. Forgelines would be custom, so any size and offset you want should work. Volk sizes would be 18x8.5 and 18x9.5, +40 offset for both.

I have 18x8 & 18x10 volk gtn's. the fronts have 235/40's the backs are 275/35's. The fronts rubbed until I filed one of the under fender bolts a bit. My car is lowered with pfs comfort springs. The reason they rubbed was likely b/c the pfs are softer initially than stock + lower. Eventually, I will put coilovers on which will allow me to lower it more and prevent any rubbing.

On another note - I probably should've gotten 255/35's in the front - they may have prevented any rubbing.

The 18x8's offset was +37.

I have LE37 @ 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 w/ 235/35 and 265/30 respectively and +45 on both. Never had any rubbing problems, I think +37 may be pushing your wheels out a bit too far.. I assume the rubbing is on the underside of the fender lip? Or is it on the suspension? FWIW I also have 2.5" coilovers, although I am pretty sure the size and offsets would work with stock stuff.

nope - they line up perfectly. I actually think I would be disappointed with anything more than a +37 on the front with an 8" wheel.

I also think having them out helps with the handling vs. having them inset.

Ah yeah that is correct, I forgot about the difference in wheel width there. A 9" wheel with +37 would cause trouble possibly though.

Does anyone think I should try 9" wheels in the front? I will have the wheels on the car with the stock suspension for about a month till I have the money to get my new suspension. I'm thinking about going with TEIN. Also, does anyone have a pref. on brake upgrades as far as brand names go? I'm considering going with Brembo, AP Racing, Endless, AEM, and so on. With so many quality brake companies out there I haven't really a clue where I should start looking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
