With that kind of power, I'd want some rubber.

For track-only, A good deal might be 17x9.5's all around w/ 275/40's... maybe SSR Competitions. Or, 18x10's w/ 285/30's. Perhaps CCW classics.

Do these need to be road wheels as well? Because that might change the equation.

Of course the popular answer will be "just use stock wheels and get some experience", and that has real merit, but what I've listed are good matches for your power level. I think the key to any set-up is ballance, and you've upset the ballance w/ 500 rwhp. In the interest of ballance, you might also think about the brakes if your going to run that much power on the track.

Good luck!

More rubber on the road is typically better (when done right). If you have the money:

17x9F (255), 17x10R (275) Volks CE28N's.

CE28Ns are very light wheels. Followed closely by a pound or 2 by TE37s. And those new RE37s or whatver. <--Those things are wicked ugly.

I have 16x9 wheels all around running 265/45 Kumho 710's.

However, when I corded 1-pair of 265, I decided to run a staggered setup. That is, 225's up front and 265's in the rear.

Guess what, turn is much better, and for my style of driving, I like the little amount of understeer the wider tires in the back brings.

I would try one season with 225's up front and 245's in the rear on your stock wheels.
