What Sway Bars for my FD???

Hey guys, I am trying to figure out what sway bars to purchase for my FD. I plan on doing some track driving hopefully next year, and as of right now drive it daily.

I did a search and just found mixed responses. From what I have read hear: RB Sway Bar Review
The Racing Beat bars won't hold up for track driving. . . .
Has anyone else had this kind of experiance?

I am really just wondering what the guys that track their cars are using like DamonB.

Thanks

Justus

I don't think RB sells the modular front bar anymore.

You can get a very nice modular front bar from Tri-Point. I've got one and I like it, but I haven't had anoy other aftermarket front bars on my car to compare it to. I got it because it is adjustable.

You'll probably want some better front anti-roll bar mounts in front. In my opinion, the Widefoot Racing ones are the best. It also has the useful feature of moving the bar up about an inch so it is less likely to scape when the car is lowered. But there are many other decent choices out there, too.

I bought a non-modular rear bar from Tri-Point, too. I think it is the same as the RB rear bar. I haven't installed it yet. I want to try out my stock 93 rear bar with the TP front, but it's been so long since I went to the track that I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Hey Max thanks for the reply.

The RB is still sold by the Rx7 Store so assume that it is still available but you never know. Anyone else have any input?

The report you read about the RB front bar breaking was their old modular front bar. It isn't available anymore.

They have a newer, tubular front bar that RX-7 Store sells. I haven't heard of any trouble with those -- don't let the reports about the old bar scare you away from it.

Tri-Point's modular bar has not had any durability problems that I know of. It is adjustable -- several holes to attach the links, and you can even get different torsion bars for major adjustments. But it also costs a lot more than the non-adjustable alternatives (like the RB front bar).

The RB rear bar has two positions for the end links to provide some adjustment.

Actually the new RB front sway bar is solid....the rear is tubular.I have the RB front bar and it looks just like the stocker except it's beafier and red. Not as serious as the modular ones...

Max is right, the widefoot sway bar mounts are awesome. I also use the mazdatrix endlinks which are adjustable, that way you can shorten them to get the sway bar a bit more horizontal, to offset the angle difference caused by the widefoot mounts.
