Weird Suspension feel

I have searched and couldn't find what I am experiencing.

93 RX7, Apexi Coil overs, 142k miles
As far as I can see, most of the suspension parts are stock with the exception of a couple of pieces on the passenger side rear. I know that the pillow ***** should be replaced, but how do you test to see?

When driving the car, the rear seems to move to one side on accelleration. Is this a common symptom of the pillow ball, or could it be something else? I don't usually start throwing money at a problem without knowing what it is.
Maybe it is in the front? You have to correct with the steering wheel to keep the car straight when this happens.

Thanks for any help.

I was thinking the same thing. I looked at all of them, grabbed everything and shook it.....Guess I will have to start taking things apart to see what falls apart.

Thanks for the input

What kind of tires are you running on each side?

Does it always pull to the same side?

Yes it always pulls to the same side.
I looked and there is one mismatched tire on the passenger rear.
You think that would cause it?

Absolutely. I had the same issue in one of my old Turbo IIs. Chased my tail chasing that "problem" until someone pointed that out. Didn't believe them at first but eventually changed the tires and the problem went away.

Awesome. One problem I don't have to really worry about.
Damn man....I would have definitely tore the car apart looking for that problem.
I will put the wheel on front and see if it changes things just to be sure.
Thanks!!!!

i've seen it too.

step 1 is to check tire pressure.

step 2 rotate the tires, and if it changes the pull, its a tire

step 3. the pillow ***** get tested for play, jack the car up and wiggle the wheels, if they are really bad it'll have an inch or so of play, which is bad.

we were just talking about this today, just do the rear pillow *****, its like the best thing you've ever done, suddenly the car will be QUIET and feel really solid.

step 4 would be to align the thing, but you really kinda do need to do the first 3 steps first

yeah, new pillowballs are definitely a nice change if the old ones are worn from age and use
