Volk GTN valves - Can they be tightened

Have fairly fast leaks coming out of the valve stems (where the rubber washer meets the rim) and wanted to know if their are bolts on the inside of the rims to tighten them.. If not, what can I do to stop the leaking.... Driving me crazy.

Thanks!

Typically any metal valve stem just has a nut on the inside of the wheel, so obviously you have to remove the tires to get to them. Once the tire was off if I felt the nuts were loose, I would just tighten them. If I felt they were tight I would try some silicone. Should be easily fixed either way once you deal with the pain of unmounting and remounting the tires.

Yeah - my thoughts exactly. + the risk of the wheel monkeys messing up my rims. (Actually, when they see nice wheels they tend to take good care of them).

What a pita.

ive worked on a lot of rims inculding lowenhart, racinghart, volk, etc. If there isn't a small nut visible from the outside then there is usually going to be an allen screw on the other side or two nuts. typically the metal valve stems dont work as good as the rubber ones because of the seal. if you are going to tighten the metal ones dont over tighten because that will only lead it to leaking more later on. when over tightening the seals become warped and oval shaped, then they cant seal as well.

I think they may have been over tightened - the seals seem to look like they are deforming from the outside of the rim. When I get them replaced is there a good replacement washer for a seal - rather than going to Volk and waiting an eternity??

thanks for the insight...
