Stock Tires Rubbing
I was wondering if anyone could clue me in as to why my tires are rubbing. About a month ago I changed out my Touring shocks with Koni Yellows and PFS Blue Springs. I set the Koni's on the highest height adjustment setting to avoid this problem.
Unfortnately I haven't had much time to drive the car since I did this and the other day I noticed that it was rubbing the inner fender well on the drivers side. I'm running 16" Potenza RE730's and so I don't know why my tire is rubbing since my friend has 17" SO2's on his car and doesn't have any problems.
I have heard the story that Mazda designed the suspension so that when the driver got in on the right hand side that the car would be level and they never adjusted it back the other way when they brought the car here. But does anyone have an idea of how to fix this. I plan on going to "MADS" this weekend and didn't really expect this kind of a problem on such a short notice. Thanks.

Well, this is a dead *** old thread, but i'll venture a guess, and this might be why my tires rub too...
The size on the tires you have may be the same spec as the stockers (225/50/16), but it's been shown in the past that the tire spec doesn't always exactly match the tire's dimensions in real life. So, one company's 225/50 might be another's 230/50 (ok, no such size, but the measurements), or 220/50. That being the case, if you got tires from another manufacturer (or even if not, the actual sizes can vary from model to model within the same mfr), then it's possible you ended up with a tire wider than the ones that were on there stock (or taller).
Are you running stock springs? I have a problem where I am running stock springs all the way around, and I get rubbing on the front wheelwells when I hit dips/bumps at >35mph. Anyone else see this?
