ok the other day i took a corner at 30-35mph planning for oversteer
instead, my front end broke loose and i nearly found myself imbedded in an audi
what can i do to aviod this/what modifications can i do to eliminate it (btw, slowing down does not count as an answer)

and why are you planning to induce oversteer on a local road? if you didnt plan to, then did you mean you expected?
ehh... basic things you can do bolt on wise, is upgrading the sway bar, add a rear strut tower bar (doesnt really help drastically but it does..., basically just figure out how to stiffen up the rear suspension... which car are you driving, (as in which generation i am assuming its an rx7)... and uhh check your tire pressure.
and other things you probably cannot do yourself, is an correct alignment to your style of driving without sacraficing tooo much tire wear...
i... can do eveerything myself
, benefits of being an assisstant shop manager of a small independent shop... but the pay sucks... lol

Here are some things, but it depends on the part of the turn you experienced understeer.
If you had understeer while exiting the corner:
you can stiffen rear springs, stiffen rear shock compression, raise rear ride height, thicker/stiffen rear sway bar
If you understeer in the entry:
soften front springs, soften front shocks, lower front ride height
Also, why are you even oversteering on public roads, you're asking for trouble?

you could mod the nut behind the wheel. try this for starters: http://motorbooks.com/Store/ProductDetails_10624.ncm

FYI, driving skills. There are many ways to correct for understeer. All the mods in the world will not cure it, if you dont set them up right, and have the knowledge to control the car
Lose the limited slip, learn how to utilize weight transfer, don't try to turn while hard on the brakes, unlower your car so that you're not riding the bumpstops in the front, what tire pressures are you running?
