Understanding wheel charts???

this chart is more technical that what i'm used too. i dont know where to start really.?.?.? thanks

1. pick what size wheel you want. for instance 18x9
2. The number below offset is the amount of lip, the lower the offset the bigger the lip.
3. Super low disk[sl] is going to be for a big brake clearance, compared to the hyper disk[hp] which will be for the biggest lip.

for instance with the 18x8.5, it only available in those 4 offsets?28,40,53,and 66? and the number below is the lip? and you mean the front lip? where do i find out about backspacing?

#3 you have backwards. SL = least amount of brake clearance, biggest lip.

this one seems to be trying to find out lip size, not determining b/s and offsets as is indicated by the title of the article. i dont understand how the offset corresponds to the number under it. i understand the sl through hp. i dont know how to convert that to making sure the wheels will fit.
