Tripoint modular bar w/ widefoot mount? use together?

Tripoint modular bar w/ widefoot mount? use together?

I'm about to purchase an upgraded front sway bar from Tripoint (the adjustable modular unit) and they recommended their sway bar reinforcements with it.

I was wondering if I could use the widefoot mount with this that TriPoint doesn't sell? This provides a stronger base to mount the bar to as it is a machined block of aluminum I believe (milled/cnc'd).

TriPoint also offers various thicknesses of the bar...... any recommendations?

This is for a street driven car (probably not a daily driver but a few days a week) that will see a lot of track duty with 285/30/18 dedicated track rims/tires (slicks or DOT slicks). Mods in sig.

I want this car to handle like a ****.

You can use any stock or aftermarket sway bar mount with the Tripoint IF you don't use the solid bronze bushing option available from Tripoint. If you opt for solid bushings (as I did) you must run the Tripoint sway bar reinforcement brackets and you MUST use sway bar mounts of stock height.

If you use the Tripoint with their regular plastic bushing option you can mount it to any stock or Widefoot type mount.

As for your wall thickness options just talk to Tripoint. They'll ask you about your spring rates and perhaps the shocks along with the use of the car. I honestly don't remember what wall thickness I'm using; I will have to check.

I would certainly not run the Tripoint bar on bone stock mounts.

I've got the Tri-Point bar with urethane bushings (not the bronze ones that Damon mentioned) and Widefoot mounts. They work together just fine -- no special installation procedure required. The wall thickness of my torsion bar is 0.188". I think it also comes in 0.125" and 0.250".

I've got the same setup that Max has. Worked great for me so far. Tri-Point will give you good advice on bar selection. They'll want to know:
- the shocks, springs and tires that you'll use,
- the bar you plan to run in the rear (not that there are many choices), and
- what you plan to do with the car.

what are the advantages of bronze vs. eurathane? I'm assuming less deflection...

Any major advantages to using the widefoot mount?

That widefoot mount is pricey.

Theoretically the bronze mount is more solid and so will respond to smaller suspension deflections. I bet I honestly couldn't tell the difference though without back to back testing and very close attention.

You're going to need some sort of upgraded mounts. Whether you go Widefoot or Mazda Motorsports upgraded mounts or use the Tripoint braces on the stock mounts, you will need something. The heavier bar puts even more strain on the stock mounts and they can literally bend just from the force of the bar. If the car is really going to be tracked (and I assume it is, otherwise why bother spending for this) you do need to upgrade the mounts.
