Toyos - super sticky

Just put some Proxes TR1's on my stock rims. 245/45 all around. Super sticky, love the tires, love the agressive tread. Two thumbs way up for the Toyo Proxes. Just wanted to share.

You want sticky, go with the R1R.

T1Rs might be ok for moderate power levels, but I've never liked them. Not sticky enough, they have a pretty high treadwear.....if the new R1R was actually available in wide sizes, I'd be inclined to try them out.

I'd worry about R1R durability on the street, as I've seen some pics from an autocross, and they looked half destroyed after just a few runs. They seem like they're pretty much a race tire for the ST autocross classes, where you're supposed to have legitimate street tires. From the looks of it, the RA1 or R888 might well be more durable.

are you guys talking r compound? if so i have read that these would be horrid on the street due to the number of heat cycles you would put them thru. basically by half way thru the summer they will be pretty much garbage. this isnt first hand knowledge but when i was searching for tires some very experienced guys chimed in and mentioned this.

Don't worry, we know. We were just saying that if you think basic street tire x is sticky, you should try the ST or r comp offerings and they will blow your mind.

Blow your mind in terms of grip and short life. With the R1R in particular, they were targeting ST class autocross competition, and I honestly wouldn't bet on them to last a single track session when driven hard. Heck, I've even seen pictures of T1R's chunking from mere autocross use. Toyo makes some good race tires for track days, but I wouldn't trust ANY of their street tires on track.
