tirerack is a joke

so i ordered enkei rpf1's for my car back in may. the rears were in stock but the fronts were not. they said they would have them on 6/15 then it was 6/26, then it was 7/10 and now its 7/26. do they have any real clue? am i gonna get these things before summer is over?

what kind of business is this? its a simple question are the rims made, are they in transit, etc. or is it all bs. do they even speak to their manufacturers? i dont understand why buying these rims which are extremely common is a problem.

eh just venting and telling you all to be careful when dealing with them. they obivously dont have their **** together.

dont have thier **** together, thats funny considering how long they have been in business and how much they sell.
I have ordered tires on a Monday afternoon and had them the NEXT day, without paying express shipping.

Im sure if they could have sent you your rims, they would have.

thats right! they dont have **** together.
how about they call enkei and find out the TRUE status of the rims rather than telling customers that they will be here on x date then when that date arrives they say another two weeks and it just keeps happening and happening. all it is is an automated system that once the inventory isnt scanned in it automatically slaps another two weeks on.

wouldnt that be customer service? the other is simply lieing. i am sorry if i require a bit of service when i spend some hard earned money.

all they are is a middle man that takes orders and once it is placed they can give two ***** as they do not communicate with their manufacturers and provide real customer service. how am i wrong? i could never get away with this sort of work nor would i as i actually care about what i do. if i promise a good or service and i cant deliver on said promise due to something beyond my control i would do my best to provide a solution not blow it off. its called pride. maybe thats whats wrong with this country...no one cares.

obviously i am not saying the rims are in their warehouse and they just arent shipping...come on.

Maybe the problem is up the food chain, say, at Enkei? Tirerack may be just as big of a victim as you.

i dont think u read what i wrote. i dont take issue with the fact that i dont have my rims. i take issue with the fact that they obivously dont communicate with them and just blow it off.

i guess i will call enkei myself to see whats going on and when i can REALLY expect the rims.

Doesn't seem all that obvious.

They may be blowing it off.

Or maybe, just maybe, Enkei keeps changing the dates on them.

They're a customer too...

I would say this sounds like a problem at Enkei. Rishie and Tire Rack don't manufacture the wheels, so all they can do is tell you what the manufacture is telling them. The successive moving dates from your first post sound like they DO talk to Enkei, regularly, and the story keeps changing.

Matty,

I understand what your complaint is... Unfortunately, this is common in the automotive aftermarket industry. Long delivery times, lack of communication, etc... The main thing is just to purchase from trusted sources so your money isn't stolen. I've ordered parts that have taken anywhere from 1 week to 9 months. You can fight it with your wallet by not purchasing things for your car, or just be patient as there's not much else to do.

sounds like Rishie is just more straightforward about these things. tirerack is a big company, i imagine they dont take estimated delivery dates too seriously.

Don't be retarded. They have warehouses in several places across the US. You just were fortunate enough to order something that they had in a warehouse close to you, they got your order together promptly, and the transit only took a day. Boo hoo.

OP, have you actually called Tire Rack and spoken to a human? Or are you just getting some status email or checking through the site?

Well you can always cancel the order...

Like someone else said, they're probably not getting the answer from Enkei, but they also do want the sale so they're not telling you that they don't have a clear answer from Enkei. I can't imagine them refusing a cancellation request, but if they do, your credit card company won't.

actually smart *** 2 times I ordered tires they had to come from warehouses nowhere near me, and I STILL got them really quickly.

I am a customer of thiers for 20 years for a reason, its not because I like being bullshitted.

OP- you ever think maybe enkei is having issues? When dealing with large companies such as tire rack dont you think they would just say there is no expected date or that communication has failed with the enkei and refund your money? Why would a company like that purposely string a customer along.

They have not been in business as long as they have by bulshitting people.

rob i hear you. of course enkei is the issue here. my request is for them to tell me a valid explanation. like enkei has them in transit or enkei hasnt made em yet and they said they would be out by xx date. or something. not just an automated two week extension system.

i am over it. lets put this thread to bed.

I've ordered numerous times from Tire Rack over the years, both as a regular customer and with a wholesale account with Gotham. When it comes to brake parts and tires they're just about automatic. Wheels can be a different story.

Hell, I just had to wait over 4 months for my latest set of Fikses......but I also got them for a very steep discount given my patience. You want to play, you have to pay, one way or another

I actually just remembered something, back when Enkei Aegis wheels first came out I went to my local shop to order a set, they ended up taking 4 months longer then what I was first told, and when they did come in they were the wrong offset!
The guy at the tire shop was just as frustrated, he wanted me to pay the balance on the wheels so he could make his money. After they came the wrong offset he refunded me my money because of the fiasco that was involved at the time.

Later I contacted Enkei and learned there was only 5-6 sets in the whole country, my incorrect offset was one of them, I think 2 sets were going on cars at SEMA

Then why don't you cancel your order and buy them somewhere else? Did you call Enkei to get the "real" answer?

Do you have any proof whatsoever that Tire Rack is making up dates? Any proof that they're not talking to Enkei?

ergo you are a fool?

Dude, they are a middleman. Their supplier is the one changing the date. If you don't believe that then why don't you call enkie direct?

i did call enkei and they said they shipped some to them.

either way this process rots. telling a customer information that means nothing feels like bad business. the origin of the faulty info is irrelevant as i am tirerack's customer. they owe me a VALID explanation not enkei. dont try to flip this on me.

i dont know what line of work you guys are in but if i promise something to someone i get it done and if i can not due to circumstances beyond my control i do my best to provide a real explanation. its called being stand up. i guess you two dont need to worry about being stand up perhaps that why you dont expect it in your business encounters. i however require it.

i would much prefer the following response "matt we contacted enkei and the rims are in transit. please understand that these are comign from japan and as a result the length of time it takes to get here depends on many factors so we dont know when to expect them" or "matt enkei is in the process of manufacturing the rims. they expect to have them ready to be shipped in one week. under normal circumstances shipping is a two week long process".

if they were open from the beginning and had accurrate information i might not have ordered the rims as i need something to track my car this yr. however they werent so i accepted delivery of the rear set already.

as i said i am not going to bicker back and forth and i thought this thread was over but i wanted to update it with another push out.
