Tire Pressure?

Tire Pressure?
At the track (not the drag strip) what kind of tire pressure do y'all run?
I'm sitting on Continental Extreme Contact DW tires sizes 235 in front and 275 in the rear. I know tire pressure makes a big difference but I'm not experienced enough at the track to get a good starting point for what is right.

Tire pressures are dependent on so many parameters that it's hard to say "start here". In most cases, street tires need higher "hot" pressures since their sidewalls are softer than competition tires. Typically, most street tires like 38-40 PSI hot. Where you start cold will depend on the ambient and track temps, but starting around 34 PSI would probably be a good start then take your pressures after you come off the track. Depending on how far the drive is off the track, you may drop 1-2 PSI from your on track peak but it should be close enough.
As you move into competition tires, they typically do best around 34 PSI hot which drops your cold pressures lower.
