TEIN HA's arrived today!

It was a good day today as UPS/Fed Ex brought me a set of new Tein HA's from www.mzmperformance.com and a set of swaybar end links (front) from Mazdatrix (new part they just released).

Originally I had chosen a Koni Yellow/Ground Control setup but unfortunately, the shop restoring my RX7 to as-new condition is not allowed to place any used suspension pieces on the car. Sold the Koni/GC kit and then I saw Mutasim advertising his HA's for sale. Sent the check in and two weeks later, I had them in my possession.

They're 16 way adjustable via top mounted adjustment **** featuring positive clicks for each level (as opposed to the 8 levels, no clicks on the Koni's). Overall the quality seems high, some of the welds aren't perfect, but overall it's a good piece. The overall diameter is much larger than the Koni's (I'm guestimating 36mm for the Tein's vs 27mm for the Koni's) but surprisingly, the fronts weigh less than the Koni's and the rears are only slightly heavier. And this is with the bottom rings and threaded body installed on the Tein's (they're not removeable actually).

Spring rates are 10Kg/mm front, 8Kg/mm rear (560lbs/inch Front, 450lbs/inch Rear). The ratio front to rear doesn't seem optimal but I'll try them and see how it works. With the large upgraded front swaybar, it may be a decent setup. Here are some pics...

Mazdatrix sway bar end links. Hopefully these will eliminate the last weak link in the swaybar setup!

If so, what's wrong with the stock front endlinks? Just curious to know if you'd had the stockers fail.

Koni/GC kit is already sold...The stock swaybar end links may be fine, but I'm going to such a large front bar, combined with the Widefoot swaybar mounts (think really beefy) it just seemed logical that the next weak link would be the puny end links. Mazdatrix just introduced these and they were fairly inexpensive ($84 with shipping).

The TEIN's do not come stock with upper pillow mounts. They do have a "value" package that includes them. I'll add them later just for kicks. They can really make the ride harsh however, and I've already done enough to push the suspension in that direction in the first place. I believe the pillow mounts are $320 or so. The HA kit through MZM Performance was $980 shipped. Best deal you'll find. Mutazim was very professional and provided great customer service. Highly recommend them.

The car is still in the shop and probably will be for another two weeks. They're supposed to have the body work done by next Monday/Tuesday, at which point the suspension stuff will be installed under my guidance. Pretty much everything is changing. Suspension Techniques front/rear bars, widefoot swaybar mounts, M2 trailing/toe arms(rear) Tein's, Mazdatrix end links, wider front rims...should be an entirely new animal. I just hope I can live with the ride quality on the street. I'll make sure to give a full report on the shocks when I get it back on the road.

I replaced the endlinks a while back with heim joints as well. Those endlinks are a standard Aurora part; the bore is 10mm. The spacers Mazdatrix shows in the pic are nice, but washers work just as well. That said, Mazdatrix is only $15 more than I payed after hunting down the parts as the metric rod ends are a little harder to find.

FD Fr Sway Bar endlinks

are fairly sturdy stock pieces. I haven't had problems with mine with a 32 mm OD sway bar and Tri-Point front sway bar braces?
