Before I get wheels, I'd like to have a nice suspension. This car isn't going to be a track car, so I really don't think I'll need $1000+ coilovers, and I was pretty set on springs, but I want an even drop all the way around so I was suggested Tein Basics. I've done a search on RX8club and RX7Club and it seems like they are great. Fully adjustable on all four corners which will give me an even drop all the way around and adjustable for whatever size wheels I get.
If anyone has or know anyone with these on their FD, let me know their experience. I did a search and a guy has these on his RX8 and said that the ride was better than stock which is sort of the worry since the damper isn't adjustable. I have Tokico shocks right now set on 3 and stock springs, so I'm guessing the ride would be better?

If you are planning on spending HRE or Iforged kind of money, don't cheap out on the rest of the car; get the Tein Flex with the EDFC (so you can do adjustments from inside the car).
Do you think that it's needed for a daily driver though? I can understand needing to adjust the dampening and everything for track use, but I don't know how they ride as just a daily driver. If anyone has experiences with them, I'd appreciate it.

I have the TEIN S Tech springs on my car. I still feel the bumps and stuff on the road when i'm driving around...but that's normal. For smooth roads, the ride is FABULOUS. It's also lowered an inch from the factory setting.
So should the tein basics have a better ride than your tein s techs?

I don't care what anyone says, NO coilover setup is going to ride as well as the stock springs! The Tein Basic uses 12/10 springs -- those are stiff as hell!
It seems to me from this thread, that you are willing to spend over a $1000 just to get an even ride height when a $200 set of springs will be very close. Am I misunderstanding here?

No you are about right rynberg, the only reason why I'm going with coilovers is because whenever I get my wheels, I'll be able to adjust them to the wheels incase there is a need.

Yes well I understand that, I'm looking at 18x8 and 18x9.5 for the FD offset and then what size tires? 245/40/18 and 275/35/18?

Coilovers also give you more room for wheels assuming that youre pushing the side to side limit and not the up and down limit but then again with coilovers thats not a problem either.
Basics are kindof an awkward choice. You could have the same features for less with the buddy clubs or apexi exv's. For more money you could pick up the flex which have enough extra features to somewhat justify its price.

im open to other suggests what do you guys suggest for coilovers? Other reason why I'm going with coilovers is because as Barban stated, I'll be able to adjust the stance of the car to fit with no wheel gap perfect no matter what wheel I go with

If you think you need coilovers, just get em. I don't see why you keep making new threads repeatedly asking for our opinions on the same topic...and then not listening to them anyway!
rynberg, I know I start a million topics but I do listen. Just I really want re-assurance and what other think of certain products before I spend 800-1k+ on something.

Here's my opinion. The Tein Basics are just that, basic. IMO, I would rather run a Koni + lowering spring setup than the Basics. If you really need coilovers, spend the money and get something decent. For the cheap end, go with the Apexi.
If you got the Basics and then wanted something else, I don't see those retaining much value on resale.

I've dropped the basics and am debating between the
Buddy Club D1's from Rx7store.net
Stance Coilovers from Rishie @ AutoRnD (local)
Basically, both are the same exact price almost. Two of my friends run Buddy Club's on their FD's, so I will get a ride with one of them, but on both Rotary Extreme website and the RX7store.net website, it says the spring rate for the BC's are 10/8 but from this site
