sway bar overkill?

So im going to be installing the widefoot swaybar mounts and I have here with me a RB sway bar brace. Would having both of these on my car be overkill for a 99% street fd? Will I see any difference? Is my frame at risk if i use both? Do they even fit together? Im just wondering if that RB bar is money better spent elsewhere now that I have the widefoot mounts.

Thanks
Dave.

Given that the Widefoot mounts OR the Racing Beat brace are far overkill for street use....it sure would be overkill to use BOTH. The Widefoot mounts by themselves are more than "adequate" for track use with R-compounds.

woohoo! They fit together perfectly! I know it is overkill by looking at it all but I could only maybe pull $100 shipped for the rb brace so Im just gonna run it. If I crack my frame or break my swaybar Ill let everyone know.

You know, many people completely take out the rear bar for track use. Something to keep in mind...

I wouldn't say MANY FD owners remove the rear bar....and what does the rear bar have to do with this thread?

You shouldn't crack your frame with that setup.

When you upgrade to stronger swaybar mounts the next point of failure seems to be the frame where the mounts bolt up. If memory serves me, the widefoot mounts have some sort of brace built in to help distribute stress away from the frame.

The RB brace doesn't provide any roll stiffness, but it does help protect the swaybar mounts (not needed with upgraded mounts). The RB brace also REDUCES stress on the frame because it bolts to the steering rack mounts as well. The only reason I run the RB brace is to protect my frame from cracking. I am not worried about my AWR mounts bending, but under heavy load instead of deforming they will transmit all that stress to the frame. Better safe than sorry I guess...

And thanks for the intelligent reply the poorboy. Actually, after looking through your other posts, I officially title you 'troll'. Be proud, you've earned it.

Yes, it is good to know. I just bought one last year as a stop-gap after finally trashing a stock SB mount.
And Barban, FWIW, I only paid ~$60 shipped for it here on the forum, so you might as well put it on. Though I'm not sure how many will ever see it.
