suspension upgrade for an 88 TII

What up and thanks for atleast looking at my post....
that being said ill get straight to it...
my suspensions seems to be rather bumpy...
I know that its a tighter suspension than im used to at this point, but surely it cant be this bad...
the car had 185,000 miles on it but it still runs good.
im sure the suspension hasnt been upgraded during the life of this car, so I was wondering what i should do in order to make the ride a bit smoother....
what parts to get, how much they will cost...etc...
i might want to lower it just a bit, but not much at all...
im getting new tires eventually just to eliminate that possibility, but im sure a new suspension is needed.

any comments or preferred setups are welcome...
by the way...im not looking for racetrack performance, but i do want a good suspension that has both performance and ride comfort!

thanks
