Tokiko the softest. Both bound and rebound simultaneous adjustments.
KYB AGX, a little stiffer from what I've heard. Also bound and rebound.
Koni Yellows, not sure how they would compare but they are rebound adjusting only. Bound/compression changes ever so slightly but is not considered to be worth mentioning.
Any more driver feedback would be good.
Thanks, Rishie

Performance wise, I would have to say the Koni yellows are the best. However, they have one inherent weakness and that is that they like to leak pretty easily. I know someone who had them in an FD and had to replace his under warranty several times because it kept leaking. Aside from that it's a good performing shock and it will make your car handle substantially better.

You left out GAB 8-ways, Bilstein HDs, and the stock Showa "hard" shocks?
Personally, I hate fooling with adjustments, so Bilsteins HDs would be my pick.
I've had experience with the Tokico 5-ways, and didn't like them. IMHO the Tokicos were NOT an upgrade from the stock Showa R1 shocks. The 5-way settings proved worthless--settings 1, 2, and 5 just did NOT work with the Racing Beat springs (nor the H&Rs); you were limited to settings 3 and 4. What you COULD do was adjust handling balance, by playing with fr/rr settings in relation to each other, but their effects were subtle at best. I get similar results playing with tire pressures (using the stock Showa R1 shocks and H&R springs)!
I have no experiene with Koni yellows, except as a passenger. They're STIFF even when coupled with PFS "Comfort Springs".
I was not aware KYB made shocks for the FD Rx7.

In general, I would actually say that Bilstein self adjusting shocks are amazing. I've got lots of experience with them on bimmers, but not FD's. I'd almost say for an all around solid feeling the bilsteins should be at the top. Otherwise I would say Koni.
How are the GABs, stiffness wise? Victor, you gotta know this one. They use these on the M2 stuff right?
