stupid noob question
i know little-to-nothing about suspension guys... so be gentle please. is it possible to put new springs (H&R coil-over springs) on my stock struts?
if it is, what are the pros/cons of doing this? i have a little extra money at the moment... probably not enough to get a full set of struts also... unless i go the ebay route and get the tokico's i've been looking at. i'm a little leary of buying something like that on ebay though seeing some of the horror stories on here.
any links, personal stories... recommendations (aside from "go f*ck yourself) will be greatly appreciated.

was looking specifically at the H&R springs
does anyone know anything about either of the RS*R springs the rx7store sells?

You can put aftermarket springs on stock shocks no prob - they bolt right up and work great. But, if your car has a lot of miles, you may have blown shocks that need replacement. If you've got over 100,000 miles, I would strongly recommend new shocks as well.

only have 43k miles on my car... does anyone else agree with what he said? judging by 1,805 post count, the Jan 2002 join date and the "off the scale" rating... i'm thinking i trust you

Yes, you can use aftermarket springs with stock struts. Yes, the eBay Tokicos are "real Tokicos". You get the same Tokico warranty as if you were buying from a normal store. Myself and many others have bought the struts from the eBay store and are using them without any problems.

its not the quality of the parts on ebay that i'm worried about... its the quality of the seller on ebay that scares me. i've read of people getting a set of tokico's... but for the wrong car. getting springs and struts right now might be a little more than i have laying around to spend so i'm not sure what i'll do... just looking at options of what toys to get.

As far as the amount of money, IMO, wait until you can afford to do them all at once. Once you deal with those bushings in the rear for the first time putting every back together, you won't want to do it again any time soon.
