Stainless brake lines

Wondering if any one could suggest a good SS brake line kit - one that installs easily without grinding, etc. Also, is DOT-approved or non-DOT preferred - I drive mostly on the street with some track time.
Any thoughts on a brake fluid that I keep in my car constantly without damage? Thanks.

I know this has been posted before but I would do a search...

Sorry I know its been said for a long time...

I purchased the ones at the store rx7store.net

good price...they are the goodridge ones...

After I bought then and received them I did a search and noticed that some people recommended that the SS line be coated as particles could get into the braids...

I think that the mazdaspeed ones are SS and coated and cost about the same...

I'll try to search and find that link....

I don't have the brake lines but I did buy the ss clutch line from Rx7.com and it had a plastic coating over it. Don't think it had a brand on the package.

I am running the Goodridge ones. They were a very simple and clean install, no modifications what so ever. Check them out.

Ok here is the other thread...

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...eel+brakelines

it talks about the problem with uncoated lines and such...and later in the thread they talk about the mazdaspeed ones...

Now the problem is that I already purchased my lines...

Someone on another thread used shrink tubing to cover the lines...the other person used some sort of spray coating...

The former person was suppose to send my some of the tubing...I need to PM him back again...

Oh BTW, I know that in the thread Max Cooper stated that the Goodridge has silicon extruded on the outside...on mine all I feel and see is the stainless steel....

I think that I was merely disputing the idea that the lines had no SS braid in them, which seemed to be what GoRacer's mechanic was concerned about. Some (perhaps not all) Goodridge lines appear to be a teflon liner covered with a stainless steel braid (like all SS brake lines) with a silicone coating extruded over the top. That may just be the constuction of their Colorflex hoses. I don't know what their other models lines have, but I would expect they would make bare ones also.

Some kind of coating over the braid seems to be aimed at keeping dirt out of the braid. Dirt in the braid seems to be bad for the lines. My car currently has custom lines front and rear (to mate with upgraded calipers). The fronts are coated and the rears are not. I doubt my rears would meet the DOT requirements. It doesn't bother me much, but it would probably be smart for me to replace them after a few years.

OK - thanks. Sounds like a coating over them keeps dirt from abrading between the SS braid and the line beneath. I'll check around for those.
Is Motul 600 the preferred fluid that I can keeep in without damage to the brake seals in the system?
