Shaking when I break
Hey everyone...
My 94 shakes, especially on the steering wheel when I break. The higher the speed the greater shake. When I pump the breaks its not as bad, but it still shakes. Any ideas what the problem is and ball park cost?

just ask your local parts store. probably $50-100 each (need 2)
you might be able to get away machining yours but chances are it will just happen again as the rotor will be thiner and easier to warp next time.

I concur that you have warped rotors. You could pull them off yourself and have them turned at a local auto parts store for about $5-10 each. http://www.brakeco.com/ sells Brembo OEM-style rotors for about $60 each.

Yes, doing the brakes on the FD is very easy. Just two bolts hold the calipers on at each corner. The rear rotors are not attached at all, and the fronts may have some little phillips screws. You can knock the screws loose with an impact driver ($20 from auto parts store) or just drill the heads a little before you pop the rotor off. There is an unused threaded hole on the center section of the front rotor, just screw a bolt in there to pop the rotor loose from the hub (and pop the heads off the screws if you couldn't get them out and ended up drilling them a little). Take the rotor to the auto parts store and they will put them on a lathe for a few bucks and get rid of the thick-n-thin surface that gives you the pulsing pedal. If they are too thin to turn, you'll have to get new rotors. It is almost certainly just the fronts that are warped. If you have to destroy the screws to get the rotors off, you can get new ones at the auto parts store (look in the HELP! section). However, the screws are just for assembly convenience and they are not absolutely necessary in case you can't find replacements (though I do think they are convenient to have).
