rotor/pad/brake line upgrade????
I am fixing to upgrade my brakes (rotor/pads/lines) and i need everyones help finding the best set of stoppers at a reasonable price. I don't care what company they come from i'm looking for the best deal possible. 1993 rx-7 stock wheels and keeping stock calipers. All the parts do not have to be from the same company ither.
Brake rotors--if you are a Mazda Comp member, go with the OE Mazda rotors. They're inexpensive and work very well. If you you're not a Mazda Comp member, go with Brembo replacements.
Pads--If you track the car, Hawk HP Plusses at $50 per axle. Street-only pads...Hawk HPS pads at $35 per axle. Race-only, Hawk black at $150 for the fronts. Race-street, Carbotech Panther Plusses for $200 for the fronts.
Brakelines--stainless steel...non DOT, go with Racing Beat's. They're made by Earl's fittings. I've had mine for 5 years with no problems. DOT-approved, go with Goodridge. These are stainless steel braid with silicone coating to keep dirt out of the braids.
Brake fluid--no-brainer choice--Motul 600 F. The only choice if you plan to track the FD Rx7.
