Rishie: Volk TE-37 in 19 x 10 or 10.5 w/51mm offset?
Rishie: Volk TE-37 in 19 x 10 or 10.5 w/51mm offset?
Just curious, since they have a 19 x 10.5 with a 42mm offset, apparently, and someone mentioned that Volk would make whatever you wanted. Any truth to that?

19 x 10 w/+51mm offset would be perfect with a pair of 19 x 8.5 w/+44mm offset in the front.
Also what finishes besides bronze and white are available? Can you get them polished instead? How about chrome for low-maintenance bling?
Thanks!

Jim, are you thinking of Volks? I don't think Volk will make anything you want. Alot wheels bought from Volk are made to order so if you wanted 19x10.5 in another offset, I don't think it would be a problem. Volk is pretty good on there timing also. I got my Volk GTC 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 within 2 weeks. One wheel came with a huge chip so we had to send it back. They didn't have them in stock so Volk had to make another rim for me, that took about 3 months. Volk can make your wheels any color you want for like $50 each.

When I bought my Volks they said they wont doing customs colors/sizes anymore as it backed them way up due to the time it takes to set eveything up for a custom set of wheels. Who knows you can try. All they can say is no.
I can surely ask. As I have before. It really depends on the relationship of the distributor with MAckin. When speaking of Volk Japan, and their importer here in the states, Mackin, they are two different entities. Mackin had the GT-C wheels in stock and at the time of damage had to get the replacement from Japan with the average wait time of 60-90 days.
As far as I know Volk will only produce custom offset wheels in certain models. Specifically those models which are multipiece. In order for them to produce a single piece wheel in any offset would be very costly and highly improbable. A billet style wheel is another story.
I just had some custom offset wheels made for a 350Z in the Gram Light Pro. Ray's, the manufacturer of Volk, indicates that they can produce any offset within a specified range in this model. Now back to the relationship aspect, Mackin will often turn down the job for either liability reasons or because it is just a PITA.
Alot of things come into play when doing custom offsets that Mackin won't have the answers too. Every which one I have run into in hopes of being able to do just what Jim asks. The main one is caliper clearance. Mackin has no way of finding out exactly what the pad height or spoke curvature will be in the end product. Nor would they accurately be able to tell you how deep the outer rim lip will be. They have no idea where Rays will add or remove material to make the desired offset.
In conclusion, it's a very risky thing to do on a consumer's part. Most consumers don't even know to ask about these other variable to ensure proper fitment at the time of arrival. No sense in spending a couple g's on rims when they will ultimately turn into some extremely lightweight and strong end tables. lol.
Jim, I will ask about the TE. But very very doubtful. Other wheels like Work are willing to work with those options. Do you have a big break kit??? IF so which one??? Do you plan on getting one??? It's so much easier for me to say, make sure this clears the FD stock caliper. They should have those drawings in house.
Peace, Rishie
PS, Custom colors would be more likely for them to do over the offset thing, and that is even doubtful. lol.

Thanks Rishie. I have a full set of measurements, including caliper clearance for front and rear. In the rear, I'll be going with RS/RZ sized rotors and calipers, and in the front I have the "standard" AP Racing 4-pot 13.0" upgrade.
I just can't understand why they'd make a 10.5" wheel and only offer a maximum 42mm offset. That must be a stock fitment for some car, I suppose.
I'd appreciate it if you could check. I doubt that a one-piece wheel like the TE-37 will be something they want to mess with for a very low volume oddball size, but there's always a chance.

Thanks Rishie. Maybe you could pass along the hint that if they're going to make wheels as wide as 10.5" that they should offer something other than Honda offsets to go with them.
They did not produce that wheel with the intention of it going onto an FD. The wheel was first and foremost made for 350Z and supra sized sports cars. In any case, my suggestion won't make an ounce of difference. It is what it is.
I just thought I'd try it out. lol. Can't hurt to ask. You need a custom wheel. This is probably an option for you with the Work line of wheels.
I know the RezaxII can be custom built because my friend got them on his E46 M3, 10.5 in the rear, 9.5 front.
Anyways, let me know if you want to look at the work line. Pick out a couple of their wheels you like.

Good gravy Jim, just get a set of Kenesis K59Rs in polished/black anodized finish.... looks like the BMW M polish, and you can get 'em in any size/offset you want.
I know you say Kenesis/Fikse have been done to death, but NOTHING has been done to death like TE37s. And they're ugly to boot.

The TE-37s have been done to death also, but never polished 19s that I've seen. I think they look better in larger sizes, and you can't argue with the weight. Oh well... I'll figure something out.
