new koni shocks installed...
I installed koni shocks. Do i need to get an alignment? I know the answer is yes..but...the car seems to drive straight as an arrow still..so do i?
Also, i think i liked the base shocks better (although i havent got on a track yet). The ride seemed a bit nicer and more predictable with the stockers. The ride with the konis seems harsh and a bit twitchy...kinda nervous feeling. I havent went to full soft yet but thats my intial feedback. I am about a 3/4 turn from soft in front and 1/2 turn from soft in the back. I am sure once i get on lime rock i will change my mind.
As far as perch settings go...i set the front on top and the rear on the middle. I beleive my front is a bit higher then it was when i had the eibachs on the stock shock. The back is perfect. In hind sight i think i would have preferred to set the front in the middle setting. I am not gonna spend time to change it over as relatively soon i will go with the m2 coilver conversion.

You can use pettit's specs... the differences for different wheel sizes listed are mostly in the camber to account for the varying flex in the sidewalls of plus-sized wheel/tire combos. Your sidewalls are close enough to use the 16" specs. I'd prolly try the "street" or "long track" for 16" if i were you.

Anytime you change ride height, you should get an alignment done. Changing ride height will change your alignment settings. If you are or planning to do any competition driving, you should get a proper alignment anyhow. As far as the Koni perch mount settings, you're on the best setup for no rubbing issues. It's your call. The Konis do have a stiffer ride quality, so it does take some adjusting to. I certainly don't mind .... it's the performance that I care about.
With regard to Pettit's alignment specs, I personally think they're a bit conservative ... especially their auto-x and track settings. To each his own.
