removing stripped lugnuts

What is the best way to remove a stripped lugnut? The original lug size was 17mm. When it first stripped using the 17mm socket, I jammed a 16mm socket over the lugnut hoping that it would grip enough for me to remove it. Well, even though the 16mm socket was an extremely tight fit, it stripped the nut even more. Basically, I have an almost perfectly circle lugnut preventing me from removing my wheel. Also, the car currently has no motor (I'm in the process of installing a new block due to crankwalk...blah) so driving the car to a shop to break the lug is not very feasible right now. Are there any other tips or trick I could try myself?
Thanks...

Yes. Nut and bolt remover. They reverse thread and cut into a nut, and then allow the stuck item to be turned. They get tighter as they get are put farther on, and often require being hammered on in order to allow use. You will need to replace your lug nuts afterwards.
Aircraft Spruce carries them up to a 5/8" size (15mm) for $19.50, part number 12-00155.
http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catmai...t=cathome.php, click on search, and enter the part number.

Only other option is to weld a nut onto the end, but that might not be viable if you can't weld.

Hope that helps.

Hooked on phonics worked for me.

It what I would do, but obviously not what he wants done. Besides, getting a rex towed can be dangerous, and the nut breaker is pretty cheap.
