Question about STI BBS rims!

I was wondering, would the gold BBS rims on the new STI fit on the FD? I love the way they look, and they are 18's. This would be a great rim to have on the FD since they are BBS's and all.
You might get more help if you posted the sizes and offsets of the wheels. I'm guessing that they won't fit or be worth it because of width.
Besides, what's so great about BBS? They make some nice spec racing wheels but most of their street wheels are very heavy and over-priced IMO....
I'm not even going to comment on the fact that the wheels are gold....

I have an STI and the wheels are 17"x 7.5". They have a wierd offset because they are an all wheel drive car. Thos rims will not fit on the fd. Go to a wheel shop and look at some rims, I'm pretty sure that you will find some that look identical to the sti for cheap.

Yes, they should fit fine on an FD. The only difference may be the center bore, but the FD has a relative small one so it would probably be ok (I dont know the STI center bore). Worst case you can have a machine shop fix it for relatively cheap.
You will however have sunk *** wheels unless you use spacers.
Yes on the normal WRX (and 04 STI) the bolt pattern is 5x100 which is not some Subaru specific size, other manufacturers use it as well (like Toyota and VW). But the 05+ STI is 5x114.3
Umm. No sir. 05+ STi has the same bolt pattern as 87-02 RX7s.
.
My thought there was maybe some rear spacers in the rear. Although the wheel/tire sizing spreadsheet shows I would have a lot of clearance with this offset/size and it looks like that would allow for a uber wide tire
My only concern is that the spreadsheet doesn't specify caliper clearance. The 52mm offset would bring the spokes closer to the calipers by 3mm. Is there enough clearance?
This is the only correct and helpful answer in here.

Question was regarding NEW (MY08) STI: 18x8.5 5x114 +55

Don't know what center bore is, but based on previous years, it's probably 56.1mm. FD is 67.1mm
As mentioned above, all Imprezas/WRXs are 5x100. All STI's from MY05+ are 5x114 however. Whey they don't just switch all their cars to 5x114, I don't know. Neons and many VWs are also 5x100.

It would depend more on the mounting position of the caliper and how far into the wheel well the rotor surface is placed relative to the hub/studs.
but those are a $3000 option above and beyond the price of the new 08 STI so I doubt you will find a set for cheap, or at least at a price that makes that wheel a wise purchase in comparison to so many other wheels out there that fit FDs and are as strong and as light.
plus that offset is lame as hell for an FD with 8.5" wide wheels.

Maybe, it really depends on the construction of the wheel. It's probably ok, but it's not a given. It shouldn't cost too too much, couple hundred maybe?
OEM STi BBSs are forged. I would think machining them would be OK. It's simply a continuation of the forging process. Couple hundred $ is too much though.
I think your right. Might not be enough clearance to the between the hub bore and the lug bore to safely machine it to 67.1mm.

The front spacing should be exactly the same as the stock FD; the wheels, if not for the centerbore issue, would have fit fine. Aesthetics are another matter, and I'll leave it to others to figure out how to spend their money wisely. Not my money, not my decision.
