Question about Eibach Springs

Do any of you have to use spring spacers in your Eibach springs to keep the ride height high enough so your wheels dont bottom out or rub the fender well?

When I bought my 7 a few years ago it came with Eibach springs and Tokico shocks and only on the springs up front were those screw type spacers that insert between the springs to keep them from compressing all the way.

At one point I removed them and tried to drive it around to see what it was like and the tires were rubbing the fender wells and also the fender when you turned.

The wheels and tires that used to be on my car were 17" Momo rims (discontinued) and 235/45/17 tires.

Do you think that maybe the springs are the wrong ones for my car?
The guy I bought the car from really ripped me off and I wouldn't put it past him to have springs on the car that weren't even meant for it.

I just ordered ASA AR-1's in 17 X 8 up front with a +35 offset and 17 X 9 in the rear with a +45 offset. And I also ordered Kuhmo MX's 235/45/17 up front and 275/40/17's in the rear.

Maybe the offsets on my old Momo's weren't right and that was the reason for the rubbing?

Anyway any help is appreciated. Thanks Josh

A couple things I have learned- 17" w/ 45 series tire is a bad idea and worn upper strut mounts will make your car sit lower than it should.

If those spacers were between coils and not on the end just taking up space they were making your springs a lot stiffer. They effectively removed the coil they were stuck in from the spring rate formula. The travel the softer version of your spring allows might be your problem.
