Price for 17' CCW wheel

Hi, does anyone know how much a CCW 17x10 wheel goes for? I'm thinking about either getting the Volks or the CCW, whichever is cheaper. Anyone has hook up for these?

Re: Price for 17' CCW wheel

$1800 set of four in street trim

higher grade stainless steel bolts/fasteners, button centercap which makes the wheel hubcentric

suggest going with black anodized center and keeping rim lips (halves actually) polished for a low-maintenance, and unique look, at no extra cost

i suggest street trim, as the race version is just for race, no center cap, lower grade fasteners that will rust...

when you email john purner, tell him i (manny lozano) sent you

the ccws will be cheaper than volks, probably stronger as well for street applications.

good luck!

Re: Price for 17' CCW wheel

assume this question relates to fd rx7?

volks don't come in the right offsets to run 10 x 17 all around, 45-mm offsets will fit in the rears only

if you run ccw 10 x 17 all round, you'll be limited to 255/40-17 all around to clear fender lips up front

ccw 10 x 17s all around use different offsets fr/rr due to the trailing arm clearances with 17s versus 18s, thus you will not be able to rotate 10 x 17s at any wheel position

you could ask john to send you wheel 1/4-inch spacers and longer wheel studs for the rear hubs; john could then make all four 10 x 17s at the 2-inch offset (50.8 mm); you could rotate wheels at any position that way

my suggestion is to use the maxcooper fitment and run 10 x 18s all around with 285/30-18s

the tire size is right for overall diameter

no clearance issues with rear trailing arms

same offset for all four wheels (2 inch)

downside is you will need 2.5-inch coil springs 10s up front (17 or 18)

if you have stock outer diameter springs only, max wheel width is 9.5 up front

in that case you can have john purner make 9.5 x 17s in 50.4-mm offsets

you can rotate 9.5 x 17 at any wheel position with no wheel spacers

you can run 255/40-17 all around with no rubbing issues

volk ce28n also come in 9.5 x 17 but 47-mm offset; a bit more outward and possibly rub fender lip up front?

best of luck!

CCWs and Volks (forged ones) are about the same price. I would look for other reasons (fitment, weight, availablility, etc.) to make the choice.

Talking

There seems to be a tremendous amount of info on the FD fitments, anyone know the correct offset for a 17x9.5 with a 275-40-17 for the rear of an FC? Also I was hoping to fit a 17x9.5 in front as well. I was going to use the Corksport front fenders(+30mm clearance). This is probably pushing it, but I'm going to try. I have four 17x9.5 Supra rims which I had hoped to use. Carl

I've talked to John @ CCW on this issue before too.....The largest you can go up front on an FC is 17 x 9 and then 17x10's in the back....He made a set of these for some guy that works across the street from CCW in FL....

Get CCW's there way better and you don't see them all the time.
