Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting a set of 18X9 and 18X9.5 +12 wheels.

What size tires should I run? Can I squeeze 235/35 and 265/30's on there with a pull and roll on stock fenders, you think?

I'll be doing the Shine Auto "Burnout" widebody later.

You weren't kidding when you said same spec wheels :O I clearly haven't had my arches rolled/pulled enough for those huge tyre specs. Looking good bud

 

thanks man. yeah I told u. u can do it I pulled the rears a lil not to much and I still don't rub. the front I pulled and flared a good bit but it still looks like oem fenders.

lolol thanks But its actually not hell flush. Here i was using my wide angle lens so the front looks longer and the fender was loose so it was overlapping the wheel, you can see how the rear isnt sunk .

 

Well perhaps not "hella" flush but certainly "stanced". Is that the word? I cannot keep up with this modern jargon. :-p

I'm going for a more square setup, and I want to run 17's, and either a 315 (prob need a 11" rim) or 295 (10" rim will work) in the rear. I'll need some traction lol. My biggest issue is what offset to stay as square as possible. Roll is fine, but I don't want to pull the fenders. Seems like if you do a 10" rim up front, you'll need to stay around +35ish? Not sure with the rears on a 10" or 11" rim. Maybe around the same? Any input?

 

I used 18x11 +45 offset to get 295 front and rear on my FD with rolled fenders (no pull), coilovers and front camber.

My set up would not however work with 17s as it would rub the lower front arm at full lock, hit the front coilover at full lock the other way and in the rear hit the trailing arm.

Its mm away from those places and the extra 1/2" the edge of the wheel is away with 18" versus 17" is making the difference.

Are you adding body width?

That would be the easy way to achieve your goal of 315s. You could then run a lower offset. I would go with 12" wide for 315s and 11" wide for 295s though.

 

 

As I was looking at tires more, I think I'd rather go with the 295's because you get more tire um, height? from rim to outside of the tire (can't remember the word) with the 295's than you would with the 315's on a 17" rim (295/45/17 vs. 315/35/17). I know you said you can't do that with the 17's, but can you still not do it if it's on a 10" rim?

I want that meaty look at least in the rear, I don't like the stretched look. Rather have 'rim protectors' than stretched. If I have to go 18's I will, but just trying to get the most tire under there with stock body. Not planning to add body width and I don't want to pull the fenders. Roll is fine though. IMO I just don't want to mess with the stock metal on such a classic/collector car lol. We can take this to PM's if needed. Thanks for the help!
