Post Pics of your FD Wheel Fitment!!
Not sure what to do with the car. right now. Its torn apart ready for paint soon. The wheels are JLine racing SDMSL2 2 piece staggered 17x11 no clue on the offset the tires are 40 r 17. I dont know if i should go widebody or stretch the fenders and try to lower the car some more. Feedback is encouraged

thanks. will a 35 series make that much difference? they are 225's all the way around. I wanna put something wider in the back like 255's or 265's but dont wanna rub or course
The only reason the rear is a 265/35 (not 25, must have been a typo) is because they were sitting on the 10's when they were on the rear, so i didn't need to buy new tyres, i just used those because they are pretty much brand new.
As for the spacers, I just prefer the look, without it the wheel tucks too much and just looks naff IMO. Admittedly the fenders needs more work, then more lows, but its getting there I think.
I must be doing something right though, I won a trophy at a show over the weekend!
265/35 on 12 is fine. You need to go a lot lower tho and 12 +0 will never fit correcly... you can pull as much as you want it'll always poke too much or you'll have to run maxed out camber, which is not the way to go imo. Just get 5-10mm spacers instead and you'll be happy.
wheel should poke a bit and be able to tuck all the way under compression... that's good fitment!

At the end of the day winning an award at a show isn't nearly as import as to WHERE the award was won at. With stance the key is body lines.. When wheels stick out too far or the pull isn't smooth then the car wont flow properly.
If you want a good idea of what a good pull looks like look to DeeSan for probably the best example in the thread of fitment as well. If you are going to space out that rear to make it more aggressive then you have to go all the way with it or it simply doesn't look right. Too much poke right now and like mentioned before that look is called "Mexi-Flush"

Yes, 35s will make a big difference, well at least they did for me lol. Did you say you have 225s all around? and you said you have 17x11? theres no way they would look like that lol. i have 11s on my rears and i have 255s stretched

I'll be honest, its the first time I've ever ran stretch on a car, so I was researching it alot, and the recurring theme was, running a 225/35 was wrong, and to go with a 40.

ooh ok, i see... I was just curious cause like i said, i once ran 35 on the rear and 40 fronts both stretched and the car just seemed lifted from the front. Maybe it was just my brain messing with me cause i knew that the fronts were taller
I measured them out and they measure 11". And say 17x 11 on the inside But no offset stamp. A buddy of mine has the same width grids on his skyline and his 225 40 18 and the stretch so much further. different brand tire . Then my buddys s2000 has 11's all the way around with the same size tires as me and they look identical stretch wise. again different brand tire. So im not sure if different brands ffit differently? I should go out and remeasure to make sure. lol
OK well im a idiot. Long days. I confused that set with another. THey are 17x10 not sure on offset still. The tires are 225/45/r17. I need to drop the car and stop the tires from rubbing before paint and try to put a 255 or bigger in the back and have the stretch match the front

You need to get shorter tires for sure dude... 35s would be best (imo) and if you have 17x10 you will be good with 245s no stretch
Is your tires stretched? what are your specs and can i get a view to see how your tires sit with the stretch?
A couple pics from this weekend installing the FEED coilovers and Gram Lights 57dr's 18x10.5+22 245/40/18 on the project FD. Should be receiving my shine feed fenders next week.

I got them with the tires on them so i dont feel toooooo bad lmao. I dont wanna camber the wheels to get them to tuck when i lower more. I like a little stretch. What about a 245 40?

This is probably the only pic i have at the moment where you could see how the tires are mounted.
245/35/18 fronts and 255/35/18 rears wheels are 18x10 and 18x11

As you can see the fronts arent really stretched on the 10s
what would a rule of thumb be if i went to a 40 series tire but dont want any more stretch than i have now. ANd then the other issue is the wheels are the same width so how can i match a wider rear tire stretch to the front ? thanks for your help btw
i dont follow... If i put a 225 35 on the front right now it will have way way more stretch than my 225 45 i have stretched on there now correct?
anyway, that affirmation is correct. As you go down in tire side wall heights the more you're asking the tire to stretch. Basically you are asking a shorter side wall to reach the same distance you are with a taller one.
225/40/17 is the equivalent of 225/35/18
225/45/17 is the equivalent of 225/40/18
Since you are rocking 17's I'd go 225/40/17. A 35 tire would be like 23.2" OD which is way to small.
I'll post pic of 225/40 vs 225/35 tonight
ahah sorry I just wanted to help you out on the go so I kinda read half your convo with Jose. Thought you had 245's on there...
