Try going toa tire shop and getting the hole plugged. It will only cost you around 10 bucks.

I went to Discount Tire today and they said they could not fix it because it was in between the tread line.....any other suggestions besides buying a new tire?

Can you post a picture where is the puncture?

I've patched my own tires using a patch from Pep Boys.

That can be repaired. I repaired a tire with a nail between the treads 2 days ago.

Go to an independent shop and ask them to take a look at it for you.

I am not so sure that it can be repaired. A patch from the inside won't work because it is to close to the sidewall. A plug may hold for a little while, but it won't seal permanantly.

It is close to the sidewall. Not safe to repair it IMO.

I've patched a tire that close before, but it was an S02. I've drifted on it with no problem. If you want to be safe, you can get some of that tire goo and fill the tire with it to keep it from leaking.

i'd fix and i work for goodyear. as long as its not pointing towards the sidewall (which it doesn't look like) and not too close to the shoulder it will be alright

Buy a $10 plug kit from the auto parts store and do it yourself. Plugging tires is easy.

Disclaimer: I am not an expert, blah, blah, blah, don't hurt yourself. If you do, it wasn't my fault.

Buy a plug kit and keep it in the car as Max says. They're only a few dollars and simple enough to use.

That said a plug may not hold since your puncture is so close to the sidewall. The sidewall flexes as the tire rolls and that makes patches or plugs tend to fail if they are on it or near it. You've got nothing to lose though. Plug it and worst case it will leak and you'll have to replace the tire anyway.
