pillowball mounts
ok this might have been asked before but i coudln't find it in my search.... for you FD owners, know you usually go thru malloy to get the replacement pillowball bushings that like to wear out around 90-100k miles.... my question is i'm looking at the tanabe pro s-s coilovers, and it has a note next to it that says it includes "pillow upper". would that be taking the place of the stock ones? or do i still need to replace those too? prolly a dumb question but i'm a newb when it comes to suspension stuff and i just wanted to make sure, thanks!

You are confusing the pillowball mounts in the lower suspension with the Rubber upper shock mounts that the top part of the coil sits in. I believe that the coilovers you are refering to include these upper mounts and call them "pillow".
Only reason I know this is I just replaced both pillowballs and upper shock mounts last weekend.

When aftermarket coilovers use the term "pillow ball", they mean that there is no rubber bushing in the upper mount, but a metal pillow ball. It has nothing to do with any of the expensive and PITA to replace suspension bushings...
