Pillow Ball Bushing

Morning,

Is there any alternative to the rear pillow ball bushings in the FD or are the OEM part the only replacement. Really have to get these sorted, knock bang wallop.
Probably going to buy the kit of 6 and replace them all. Just want to make sure that OEM is the best option.

1997 FD3S

Cheers

Unless you have a need for something other than OEM, I would stick with OEM in this department.

Cheers for reply. No I just wanted to know if another option was out there. I'll just go with the OEM then.

BTW, I'm all for aftermarket parts when it makes sense. However, over the last summer I put in new OEM pillow ***** on my car. So I do practice what I preach.

And by changing, did it resolve you clunking issues. My car feels like I am towing a tool box... drives me mad.

I didn't really have any clunking sounds. What I noticed was that I had excess play in the bushings. After the install, the handling felt much tighter.

Oh okay. Well mine definitely have to go and hopefull resolves the issues. I have the delrin bushing kit in the rear including the diff delrin bushings so maybe they put the extra strain on the pillows and completely busted them.

Time will tell. I have just ordered the kit of 6 from rhdjapan.com... should be here late next week. The the press pushing begin.

Morning all,
Right, just got set of Pillow ***** from RHD Japan...

I'm going to get these pressed in at the weekend, weather permitting.

Any tips... I know that the old are pressed out and new pressed in although just wondering should I ;

1. Grease them so that go in easier
2. Dremmel any imperfections in the arms themselves where old bushing came out of
etc etc

Thanks

Hi,

I need to buy a full set of bushes with seals and was thinking of buying them from RHD Japan. Did you have to pay any import tax, handling fees etc?

Thanks

Well it was sent by FedEx... I didn't request that RHD gift it etc although FedEx rang to see if it was personal etc. I had a VAT number from work so avoided any vat etc...

When you request/ buy parts from RHD just ask them if they will gift it to you or mark it as a return/ replacement item.
