Is there a big difference between the spring and coilover setup?

I'm trying to choose between tein, h&r, and eibach

I'm looking for the lowest drop, but still a good ride. More for looks and having it even all around. I have tokico shocks already

The Tein's would be the lowest if that's all you want. -1.4"F -1.4"R
H&R's are -1.25" all around
Eibachs are -1" all around

Adjustable coil-overs allow adjustment, so pics are pointless for those.

Mahjik, is your drop even all the way around? How do you like the tein's I had them on my 8 and they were great and very cheap.

The car next to you is what I want my car to look like, scoot hood with feed front bumper, does he have any skirts? His front end seems widebody?

I didn't measure (as it wasn't a concern). If want an even drop all around for sure, you'll have to do coilovers.

They are good if you want a more aggresive spring. However, they are one of the more higher spring rates for the FD so I don't recommend using the stock shocks with these (and I would still recommend RSR Race Springs if you plan to track the car). Had the RSR Race Springs been available when I switched springs, I would have gotten them instead.


Apexi side skirts. It's not a widebody. Here's another shot of it:

It's has copper flake in the paint so it looks red in some shots, more orange in others. His forum name is RTS3GEN.

Awesome wheels and paint. The lights, hood, and bumper cover are a typical 3rd gen disaster.

That being said Im not overly optimistic about "helping this thread". A little searching will turn up a buttload of results. I keep an eye on hardhitter. Hes probably less than 20 city blocks away right now so hes interesting to me. Im hoping that he will prove himself to be more than the average los gatos punk with mommy and daddy's money. Im hoping to see him mature as an owner with specific attention to: searching. And, the correct path to modify an RX7. Hes placed emphasis on form at the moment with widebody dreams, 20" aspirations and pretty much all the bolt on's with no ecu.

I made my comment to stand up for class in a thread where I though it counted. He remarked that he liked that car and im trying to influence him with some more class than widebodies, dubs, and poorly fitting body modifications.

Why should you care? It's his money and his car.

So, do you also walk through malls or down the street, stop people and tell them they are ugly, or fat, or that their clothes suck when they aren't asking for opinions? Probably not.

I have no problems with people trashing other people's cars when they ask for opinions. However, I do have a problem trashing someone's car when they themselves weren't asking for opinions, showing off their car, or even posting a picture of their own car in the first place.

True. Like I said hes local and seems like a cool guy and Id rather see a well maintained, "tasteful" 7 than a rice dream. My tactics may suck but as of yet I have not had the pleasure of meeting, essentially, any of the local owners due to my car being under the knife. So, this forum serves as my surrogate meet when confronted with local owners. Thats not to justify but perhaps it explains.

It was tactless and unwarranted and for that I do apologise. Im gonna walk away for fear of poking the bees again. Feel free to have the last word.

Eibach springs stock struts. I don't think the rear is as low as I would have liked.

Damn! That looks nice! That was also something which bugged me about the Eibachs, but aftermarket wheels seems to hide that more than the stock rims. Here are a few shots of mine before I switched out the Eibachs:

First off, if I was modding my car and doing everything with money from my mom and dad, I wouldn't have to post threads on this forum. I wouldn't ask advice from people on this forum and I would have everything I want on this car. Is this true? No, it is not. I have high hopes for this car, but these high hopes cost money, and since I buy everything for my car, it takes time and hard work to get the car to what I want it to look like.

I do not understand how widebodies remove the kind of class from the car.

Rolling on dubs? I don't think I've ever said I wanted to roll on 20's ever. The biggest I said would be 19's but 18's are the most common and for our cars, what likely will look best.

Poorly fitting body modifications? I really do not understand where you are getting these points from? If you consider ordering from Rotary Extreme or a Burnout kit from Japan poorly fitting body modifications then you have a point, but I don't know who else would agree to that.

I don't know if you have met me before at any of the meets, but please introduce yourself if you see me. I would love to meet you and talk in person and just talk cars, but I don't see any reason for you to feel like you need to watch over me in any way as if you are superior and better than I.

On the other hand, I'd like to thank you though for contributing to the thread and taking the time to do the search for those results.

I didnt mean to come off superior. Look at it like this. Your car runs. And, you didnt lose an engine because you slapped on a crappy full exhaust and a crappy ecu. My car doesnt run at the moment and when I was about how experienced with the car you are I popped my engine. Some thousands of dollars later my car ran again. You seem like a cool level headed guy. I watch you. I dont intend to watch over you. At the same time, having taken an interest in the local owners, I tend to inject my opinion into their posts more often. I can be a real big jerk and thats part of my charm. The trick is not to take me seriously. Mahjik posted up those pics and you remarked that you liked the heavily modified(exterior wise) seven with the cool paint so I remarked that I loved some parts of it and not so much others. Mahjik called me on being an *** and so I justified myself which just further exposed my assholish moment. Id love to meet you as well and as soon as I can drive my car to a meet I fully intend to be everywhere. Unfortunately all you can know of me on the net is my voice and not my actions. Most of my rude behavior is speech based for shock and sattire. I hope I didnt upset you. Like I said you seem cool but youre local so youre in the "splash zone".
